Join us for a terrarium workshop at Wera Plants - a cosy, boutique plant store in the heart of Wentworthville, Sydney, where we create beautiful things with plants and bring people together through creativity and nature.
Wera Plants started five years ago as a small online plant store run from home, sharing my passion for plants by selling beautiful indoor plants, succulents and pots. Over time, the love and support from our wonderful community helped us grow, and now I’m thrilled to share a physical space where we can connect in person through workshops and events.
Nestled within a warm, welcoming space filled with greenery, curated pots, and earthy textures, Wera Plants offers more than just a workshop; it’s an experience. Our terrarium-making sessions are held right in the store, surrounded by inspiring plant displays and handcrafted décor that reflect our love for design, detail, and the magic of miniature ecosystems.
In this hands-on terrarium workshop, you will:
  • Learn the fundamentals of terrarium building, including the essential layers for drainage, soil and humidity control
  • Understand how to choose the right plants based on: size, growth habits, compatibility with closed vs open environments
  • Explore the differences between closed and open terrariums and how each affects your microclimate
  • Get familiar with the tools needed for building and maintaining your terrarium at home
  • Personalise your own terrarium using: a variety of healthy, handpicked plants and decorative stones, mosses, figurines and natural elements
Whether you love a wild, jungle-like vibe or a clean, modern design, you'll have the freedom to make your terrarium truly your own.
Why choose Wera Plants?
We're a locally owned boutique plant store, passionate about plants, design, and education. Our space is designed to inspire, with beautiful indoor plants, curated accessories and earthy aesthetics. Our sessions are intimate and relaxed, perfect for beginners or anyone wanting a mindful, creative experience.
Additional options:
  • We offer private terrarium workshops for families, friends or groups who want a personalised experience
  • Our team can bring the workshop to you with mobile sessions, perfect for events or special occasions
  • Looking for a unique venue? You can also hire our boutique store space for your own events, celebrations or creative gatherings
Come join us to create, connect and grow something beautiful at Wera Plants!

Plants have been a passion of mine since childhood, but it was just before the COVID-19 pandemic that my interest really blossomed. During the pandemic, I launched my business, focusing on selling indoor plants, succulents, and cacti online and from my home. I have a special fascination with terrariums and arrangements and I love creating beautiful things with plants and soil.
