Textile Collages Sewing Class: Snazzify

Create your own textile collage in Sydney!

3 hours Class size 1 to 8 guests       $20

Imagine if scrapbooking and sewing had a baby...
Snazzify is a brand new workshop all about creating playful fabric collages.
Spend the afternoon cutting, layering, stitching, and decorating with vintage fabrics, trims, lace, ribbons, appliqué, embroidery threads and all sorts of unexpected treasures.
Inspired by scrapbooking, mixed media and slow stitching, you'll experiment with colour, texture and composition to create something that's completely your own.
Your collage might become...
  • A feature on a t-shirt or jumper
  • A patch for a denim jacket
  • A tote bag design
  • Framed textile art
  • A cushion panel
  • Or simply a beautiful piece of creative play.
There isn't a "right" way to make a collage, and that's what makes this class so much fun. Some people might create something bold and colourful, while others will stitch tiny details or layer vintage fabrics into something beautifully nostalgic.
We'll have a huge collection of fabrics, trims, and embellishments to inspire you, and we'll guide you through different ways to build your design, from simple appliqué through to richly layered fabric collages.
Whether you've sewn before or have never made anything like this, you'll leave with new techniques, plenty of inspiration and a piece that's uniquely yours.
What you'll get
  • All equipment and materials provided
  • All notions, trims and haberdashery provided
  • Tea and coffee provided
  • A completed textile collage

The Fabric of Us is a creative community where people come together to learn, make and connect through textiles. Our workshops celebrate creativity over perfection, curiosity over rules, and the simple joy of making something with your own two hands.
Founded by textile artist and sewing educator Rosa, The Fabric of Us was born from a love of sustainable making and the belief that sewing has the power to bring people together. Many of the materials used throughout our workshops are thoughtfully sourced from op shops, fabric destashes, donated collections and rescued remnants, proving that the most beautiful creations often begin with what others have overlooked.
Whether you're picking up a needle for the first time or rediscovering a long-lost hobby, our workshops are designed to be welcoming, relaxed and encouraging. We believe creativity should be accessible to everyone, and that sewing isn't just about making beautiful things - it's about building confidence, reducing waste, sharing stories and creating meaningful connections with others.
Come as you are. Leave with something you've made, new skills to take home, and hopefully a few new friends along the way.
