Immerse yourself in a relaxing, creative experience with friends and loved ones — join our tufting art class and craft your own custom rug.
In this hands-on workshop, you'll discover the art of making a personalised tufted rug using a tufting gun and yarn. Bring an image you'd like to turn into woollen art, and we'll project your design onto the primary fabric.
With over 50 yarn colours at your disposal, you'll watch your vision come to life tuft by tuft as we guide you through the whole process. We'll also show you how to add the final touches, so you can complete your rug and take it home the same day.
How long you're here depends on the rug size you choose at checkout — from around 2-3 hours for a 40x40cm rug up to 5-6 hours for a 90x90cm one. Pick the size that suits the time you have.
If two people would rather share one tufting gun and make a single rug together, that's absolutely fine. Just register as one participant, and we'll only charge for one. A maximum of two people can share a gun.

Really appreciate all the guidance and how patient they are with everyone! Truly something I would recommend for sure! Also the pics uploaded are unfinished, the finished product is even better!

  • 5/5 from Quynh Duong, attended Oct 2026: Such a fun class, and super easy to pick up. Hard to mess up and you get a great rug to take home after the class
  • 5/5 from Rachael Neumann, attended Oct 2026: That was such a great afternoon for my kids. It was a little bit creative and a little bit technical and a lot of fun. I’ve already signed up to go with my friends! Kids don’t get to have all the fun.
  • 5/5 from Julia Tran, attended Oct 2026: Carol was an amazing teacher! She was so patient and helpful, we had a really great time and would definitely return in the future.
  • 5/5 from Jasmin Strickland, attended Oct 2026: Great fun. Would recommend to others.
  • 5/5 from Nathan Luong, attended Oct 2026: Had a great time! Easy to learn and pick up! Would come again
  • 5/5 from Ashleigh Norsa, attended Oct 2026: Tutu Studio were absolutely amazing! They were super helpful in suggesting designs and offering assistance throughout the making process. Tufting was super fun!
  • 5/5 from Maddi Skeggs, attended Oct 2026: The class is well worth it's money! Quite flexible in that you can choose whatever design and colours you want, and although it looks challenging, the gun is pretty easy to use! The teacher was able to guide us for any parts we were unsure about. The method is quite forgiving, my lines were not neat at all but the rug still turned out very well! A really good take home gift and a small class size
  • 5/5 from Jacinta L Lung, attended Oct 2026: It was amazing, loved every minute of the process. Definiately coming back to do a larger Rug with my daughters.
  • 4/5 from Frances Elms, attended Oct 2026: We made a tufting rug at TUTU Studios. It was a fun class with freedom to choose your own design and colours. We were given a demonstration and once we could use the machine we were left to complete the tufting. Staff were always available to ask for help and would teach us the next step as we needed it. Great class for myself and 14 year old.
  • 4/5 from Kath Dolan, attended Oct 2026: Great fun for a crafty few hours of play. Easy activity and friendly teachers. Thoroughly enjoyed it.
  • 3/5 from Yashodhara Mudalige, attended Oct 2026: We had lots of fun doing the tufting class and really enjoyed getting to make our own rugs. It was a fun and unique experience overall. That said, the class could have been better organised. The steps weren’t always explained very clearly, especially for beginners, and the teacher was absent for a large part of the class, so it was sometimes difficult to know what we were meant to be doing next. A bit more guidance and support throughout the session would have made the experience much better. Overall, we still had a great time and loved the finished result, but I think the class could benefit from more hands-on instruction and teacher involvement.
  • 5/5 from Melissa McCulloch, attended Sep 2026: My daughter got me this course as a birthday present. Well set up. Lots of yarn colours to choose from. Happy with my birthday rug!
  • 5/5 from Allison Walters, attended Sep 2026: Our instructor Maggie was lovely, helpful and relaxed. She helped us when needed and got us to complete our rugs which we love. I would definitely recommend doing this class.
  • 5/5 from Genevieve Monk, attended Sep 2026: My friend and I loved this class, we had so much fun. Nico was so helpful and patient. Highly recommended!
  • 5/5 from Assunta Crupi-Pogliano, attended Sep 2026: It was a super fun day and a great gift idea! Suki was extremely patient when we went overtime and gave helpful tips to make our design the way we imaged it. She was very friendly. I would definitely recommend! I made a carpet shark :)
  • 5/5 from Elizabeth Ristow, attended Sep 2026: Great experience
  • 5/5 from Fay Hong, attended Sep 2026: teacher was super friendly, location is great (close to food and drinks) and the tufting itself was fun. keep in mind the tufting gun is quite heavy and it does become quite tiring after a while so it might take longer than anticipated to complete the rug. overall recommend this as it's unique and fun!
  • 5/5 from Reika Phung, attended Sep 2026: We really enjoyed the tufting and the 40 x 40 is a decent size and takes at least 2-3 hours. The gun gets a bit tiring but my kids still had a great time (10 and 13)
  • 5/5 from Baksho Craig, attended Sep 2026: I absolutely loved it. The staff are so kind and helpful.
  • 5/5 from Jessie Picard, attended Sep 2026: Fantastic class with great instructors and easy to follow instructions. Great choice of colours for our rugs!

  • 5/5 from Trinity Cachia, attended Sep 2026: Kinda creepy to get into but the actual space is so nice, cozy and cute. The staff were super nice and made sure we understood what we were doing before letting us be.
  • 5/5 from Lechlan Teo, attended Sep 2026: Teacher Irene is very sweet, nice and patience with us ️ She provides detailed information when doing the design sketching and teaches us how to prepare and use the tufting gun step by step. I like the whole process as seeing a blank fabric slowly turns into a final complete rug piece!
  • 5/5 from Milton Plotkin, attended Sep 2026: Very fun experience! Took a bit longer to complete our rugs than we thought, but that's on us. A big thanks to our host for being so accomodating and allowing us a bit of overtime to ensure our designs came out perfect. Would highly recommend!
  • 4/5 from Delal Kabayel, attended Sep 2026: It was a good experience
  • 2/5 from Christina Rojas, attended Sep 2026: Although the activity was enjoyable, I wouldn’t really call it a “class”. The instructor gave us a 5 min demo on how to do the tufting and then we were left for the rest of the 5 hours. Staff were polite, but not particularly enthusiastic or engaging. My rug started falling apart the next day. One of the instructors forgot to glue the back. I have sent the business a message and they have not responded. Wouldn’t recommend, pretty average experience.
  • 5/5 from Stuart Jensen, attended Aug 2026: A great experience trying something new. Good fun, and was able to get the hang of it pretty easily with the instructions from the teachers. Can take longer than expected if you have lots of detail in your design. Overall a fantastic afternoon, thank you!

It was a fun class and using the tuffting gun felt very therapeutic ️ the instructors helped me pick an easy cute design. The instructors are friendly and guided us to create our designs. After we finished, they cleaned up the design and put it in a nice take-away bag! Highly recommend :)

  • 5/5 from Stephen Lay, attended Aug 2026: This was incredibly fun. The ladies who run the studio are very professional and friendly and helpful. They have a huge stock of yarns in various colours, so no matter what colours you need, they have it. I have never tufted before, but with their instruction I came away with a really cool looking rug. Strongly recommend this.

  • 5/5 from Ange, attended Aug 2026: The staff were friendly and helpful.
  • 5/5 from Malin Solberg, attended Aug 2026: The teachers gave good advice regarding if they thought something would be too complicated and difficult, but at the end of the day they let you run the whole thing yourself (which i love). Definetly ended up doing something slightly more complicated than i should have, but had SO much fun!
  • 5/5 from Tim Lu, attended Aug 2026: Teacher was very helpful and patient. Explained the process clearly and gave useful tips during the session
  • 5/5 from Jessica Nord, attended Aug 2026: Coral was a wonderful teacher and I had the best time bringing my design to life. I never felt rushed and really enjoyed the class.
  • 2/5 from Arpan Kumar, attended Aug 2026: We enjoyed the tufting activity overall, and the process itself was fun and engaging. However, there were several aspects of the class that I feel could be improved, particularly given that we had clearly mentioned beforehand that all four of us were complete beginners. 1. The workspace was too cramped The class was conducted in a relatively small space, and only three people could work comfortably at a time. With four participants, this made the experience quite cramped and difficult to manage, especially when working with tufting guns and yarn. 2. Design guidance was not provided upfront We were asked to send our designs a day in advance so that they could be prepared before the class. However, once we arrived and had our designs transferred onto the rug, we were told that spirals and curves could be difficult for beginners to work with when using the tufting gun. As beginners, it would have been helpful to receive this guidance before submitting our designs. If certain shapes or patterns are not recommended for first-time participants, that information should ideally be communicated when the designs are being submitted so that we can make appropriate adjustments beforehand. 3. The yarn setup made the process unnecessarily difficult One of the biggest challenges was the way the yarn was positioned. The yarn was placed on the floor rather than being fed from above or through a suitable holder. Because of this, we had to be extremely careful not to step on or tangle the yarn while working. Despite trying to be careful, every one of us accidentally stepped on the yarn at some point, causing it to come out of the tufting gun. This meant that we repeatedly had to stop, re-thread the yarn, and start again. For beginners who are already trying to get comfortable using a tufting gun, having to constantly deal with the yarn coming out was quite frustrating. Combined with the limited workspace, it made the process more difficult than it needed to be. Overall, we did enjoy the activity and found the actual tufting process fun. However, I think these operational aspects could be addressed to make the experience much smoother, particularly for first-time participants. Clearer instructions before the class, better workspace planning, and a more practical yarn-feeding setup would make a significant difference to the overall experience. 4. $40 for professional rug clean up is just a scam - totally not worth it. All four of us had similar reaction and were disappointed.
