1.5 hours

Class size 1 to 6 (public classes), 2 to 4
  $150 (Afterpay available)

Laksa is a spicy noodle soup popular in the Peranakan cuisine of Southeast Asia. Laksa consists of thick noodles or rice vermicelli in a spicy soup based on either rich and spicy curry coconut milk or sour asam (tamarind or gelugur).
For vegan Laksa, broth is the key and most crucial ingredient. Instead of using seafood like clams and shrimp, we will be using natural garden herbs and making your own plant-based Laksa paste that will bring volume to your vegan Laksa soup with the paste.
In this class, you will learn how to make plant-based, MSG-free, healthy, and delicious Laksa paste from scratch and have the skills to recreate the dish anytime in the comfort of your own kitchen.
You will create your own vegan laksa paste that you make during class back home to make your own vegan Laksa again anytime.

  • 5/5 from Ofir Shein-Lumbroso, attended Sep 2020: Had a very nice class with Kathryn, the soup was delicious and we enjoyed making it and even more eating it. The ingredients were fresh and some of them came straight from Kathryn's lovely garden.
