Gentle Adaptive Hip Openers for Freedom of Movement
Welcome to Gentle Adaptive Hip Openers for Freedom of Movement, a gentle practice designed to improve hip mobility, enhance balance, and help you move with greater confidence, stability, and independence in everyday life.
Healthy hip mobility is essential for maintaining an active lifestyle and reducing the risk of falls. As we age, stiffness in the hips can affect balance, walking, posture, and everyday activities such as getting up from the floor, climbing stairs, gardening, shopping, or stepping over obstacles. This session focuses on gentle, adaptive exercises that improve flexibility, restore natural movement, and strengthen the muscles that support safe, confident mobility.
Using slow, controlled movements and mindful stretching, you'll increase hip range of motion, improve body awareness, and encourage better movement patterns. Greater hip mobility can contribute to improved balance, smoother walking, and better functional movement—helping you stay active and independent for longer.
Regular practice may help you:
  • Improve hip mobility and flexibility.
  • Increase range of motion.
  • Enhance balance and postural stability.
  • Reduce the risk of falls.
  • Improve walking confidence and functional mobility.
  • Reduce stiffness and muscle tension.
  • Strengthen movement control and body awareness.
  • Support healthy ageing, independence, and overall wellbeing.
Maintaining good hip mobility is one of the keys to preserving independence and preventing falls. Better flexibility and stability can make everyday tasks—such as walking outdoors, getting in and out of a car, climbing stairs, dressing, gardening, or spending time with grandchildren—feel easier, safer, and more enjoyable. By improving the way your body moves, you'll gain greater confidence to stay active and continue participating in the activities you love.
Suitable for seniors and NDIS participants of all abilities, this gentle adaptive practice encourages you to move at your own pace and within your comfort level. Every session supports better balance, safer movement, and long-term mobility—helping you enjoy a more active, confident, and independent life.

My yogi way started in childhood when I asked myself about death. It was so evident that I can't be dead; I am something more than this physical body, beyond the five organs of sensation. I started exploring who I am...
It is an interesting and deep way with a lot of spiritual experiences. I meditated a lot, more than 5-6 hours during the day and many years one after another to find answers to my questions. And once, when I came back to the physical body after a long meditation, two main thoughts came into my mind: "There is no mind over there, " and "People are suffering from the mind."
Later, I met my spiritual teachers. I came to India to learn yoga, where the science of Yoga was born. It's impossible to understand Yoga without learning the Indian culture because Yoga and India are the same!
Western people know yoga as physical training. But it's anything but not yoga.
Yoga is a deep spiritual science expanding the perception of consciousness from simple human to cosmic divine! Yoga is a way and a fruit. Yoga is mystical knowledge.
I never stop learning yoga. Yoga is being called a state of unity and the way to achieve this state.
I have more than 10 years of practicing Ashtanga yoga, not fitness. Ashtanga means 8 parts. Modern Ashtanga yoga is fitness and does not have something similar to the true meaning of Ashtanga Yoga of Patanjali.
The 8 parts include: Yoga philosophy for increasing the level of consciousness, Asanas for the physical body, Pranayamas for purifying the prana (prana means vital energy), Pratyahara (bringing the five organs of sensation inside), Dharana (concentration), Dhyana (holding the object of meditation for a long time), Samadhi (beyond the words, being in superconsciousness).
All this is not easy and needs a serious guru. From my side, I am trying to help people not forget the true meaning of yoga and probably encourage someone to do yoga as a Sadhana (spiritual practice), not as a fitness routine.
