Module 6: Respiratory Vitality & Nervous System Regulation
Welcome to Module 6: Respiratory Vitality & Nervous System Regulation, where you'll discover how gentle seated yoga and mindful breathing can support both your physical health and emotional well-being.
Breathing is something we do every moment of every day, yet many people begin to breathe more shallowly as they age. Improving the quality of your breath can help increase oxygen flow, reduce tension, support healthy lung function, and encourage your body to relax naturally. In this module, you'll learn simple seated breathing techniques combined with gentle movements that help open the chest, improve posture, and create more space for comfortable breathing. The exercises are safe, accessible, and suitable for seniors and NDIS participants of varying abilities.
Regular practice may help you:
  • Improve breathing efficiency and respiratory health.
  • Reduce feelings of stress, anxiety, and nervous tension.
  • Support a calmer, more balanced nervous system.
  • Improve focus, mental clarity, and emotional resilience.
  • Increase energy while reducing fatigue.
  • Promote better posture and easier movement throughout the day.
  • Build confidence and independence in everyday activities.
  • Feel more relaxed, present, and connected to your body.
A calm nervous system plays an important role in overall health. When your body feels safe and relaxed, everyday tasks often become easier, movement feels more comfortable, and you may experience greater confidence in your ability to remain active and independent. Throughout this session, you'll be encouraged to move at your own pace, breathe comfortably, and listen to your body. There is no pressure to perform perfectly—every mindful breath is a positive step toward better health and well-being.
By the end of this module, you'll have practical breathing techniques you can use anytime—whether you're preparing for your day, recovering after activity, managing stressful moments, or simply taking time to relax.
Breathe with confidence, move with ease, and support a healthier, calmer, and more independent life.

My yogi way started in childhood when I asked myself about death. It was so evident that I can't be dead; I am something more than this physical body, beyond the five organs of sensation. I started exploring who I am...
It is an interesting and deep way with a lot of spiritual experiences. I meditated a lot, more than 5-6 hours during the day and many years one after another to find answers to my questions. And once, when I came back to the physical body after a long meditation, two main thoughts came into my mind: "There is no mind over there, " and "People are suffering from the mind."
Later, I met my spiritual teachers. I came to India to learn yoga, where the science of Yoga was born. It's impossible to understand Yoga without learning the Indian culture because Yoga and India are the same!
Western people know yoga as physical training. But it's anything but not yoga.
Yoga is a deep spiritual science expanding the perception of consciousness from simple human to cosmic divine! Yoga is a way and a fruit. Yoga is mystical knowledge.
I never stop learning yoga. Yoga is being called a state of unity and the way to achieve this state.
I have more than 10 years of practicing Ashtanga yoga, not fitness. Ashtanga means 8 parts. Modern Ashtanga yoga is fitness and does not have something similar to the true meaning of Ashtanga Yoga of Patanjali.
The 8 parts include: Yoga philosophy for increasing the level of consciousness, Asanas for the physical body, Pranayamas for purifying the prana (prana means vital energy), Pratyahara (bringing the five organs of sensation inside), Dharana (concentration), Dhyana (holding the object of meditation for a long time), Samadhi (beyond the words, being in superconsciousness).
All this is not easy and needs a serious guru. From my side, I am trying to help people not forget the true meaning of yoga and probably encourage someone to do yoga as a Sadhana (spiritual practice), not as a fitness routine.
