Module 7: Progressive Somatic Relaxation & Mental Recovery
Welcome to Module 7: Progressive Somatic Relaxation & Mental Recovery, a deeply restorative session designed to help you release physical tension, quiet the mind, and experience profound relaxation while remaining comfortably seated.
In our busy lives, the body often carries stress without us even noticing. Muscle tension, mental fatigue, poor sleep, and ongoing worry can gradually affect our energy, confidence, and enjoyment of everyday life. This guided relaxation practice provides an opportunity to slow down, rest deeply, and allow your body and mind to recover.
Throughout this session, you'll be guided through a gentle somatic relaxation experience using body awareness, mindful breathing, and progressive relaxation techniques. By bringing attention to different areas of the body and consciously releasing tension, you can encourage your nervous system to enter a calm, restorative state where healing and recovery naturally occur.
Regular practice may help you:
  • Reduce stress, anxiety, and emotional overwhelm.
  • Release accumulated physical tension.
  • Calm and regulate the nervous system.
  • Improve sleep quality and promote deeper rest.
  • Enhance emotional resilience and mental clarity.
  • Increase body awareness and inner calm.
  • Support healthy energy levels throughout the day.
  • Improve overall wellbeing and quality of life.
Relaxation is an essential part of healthy ageing. When the nervous system feels calm and supported, everyday life often becomes easier to manage. Many people find they have greater patience, improved concentration, better emotional balance, and increased confidence to remain active and independent in their daily routines.
This practice is especially valuable for older adults and NDIS participants who wish to reduce stress, improve their sense of wellbeing, and maintain independence. Taking time to rest is not a luxury—it is an important part of supporting both physical and mental health.
There is nothing you need to achieve during this session. Simply allow yourself to become comfortable, follow the guided relaxation, and let your body rest. Every moment spent in relaxation is an investment in your long-term health, resilience, and overall wellbeing.
By the end of this module, you'll feel calmer, more refreshed, and better equipped to face everyday life with greater ease, confidence, and peace of mind.
Give yourself permission to slow down, relax deeply, and restore both body and mind.

My yogi way started in childhood when I asked myself about death. It was so evident that I can't be dead; I am something more than this physical body, beyond the five organs of sensation. I started exploring who I am...
It is an interesting and deep way with a lot of spiritual experiences. I meditated a lot, more than 5-6 hours during the day and many years one after another to find answers to my questions. And once, when I came back to the physical body after a long meditation, two main thoughts came into my mind: "There is no mind over there, " and "People are suffering from the mind."
Later, I met my spiritual teachers. I came to India to learn yoga, where the science of Yoga was born. It's impossible to understand Yoga without learning the Indian culture because Yoga and India are the same!
Western people know yoga as physical training. But it's anything but not yoga.
Yoga is a deep spiritual science expanding the perception of consciousness from simple human to cosmic divine! Yoga is a way and a fruit. Yoga is mystical knowledge.
I never stop learning yoga. Yoga is being called a state of unity and the way to achieve this state.
I have more than 10 years of practicing Ashtanga yoga, not fitness. Ashtanga means 8 parts. Modern Ashtanga yoga is fitness and does not have something similar to the true meaning of Ashtanga Yoga of Patanjali.
The 8 parts include: Yoga philosophy for increasing the level of consciousness, Asanas for the physical body, Pranayamas for purifying the prana (prana means vital energy), Pratyahara (bringing the five organs of sensation inside), Dharana (concentration), Dhyana (holding the object of meditation for a long time), Samadhi (beyond the words, being in superconsciousness).
All this is not easy and needs a serious guru. From my side, I am trying to help people not forget the true meaning of yoga and probably encourage someone to do yoga as a Sadhana (spiritual practice), not as a fitness routine.
