  • 4/5 from Anneke Smits, attended May 2026: We had a great time - very educational and Paul was great. Food was delicious! Only reason it’s 4* is that we would’ve liked a little more hands-on / demo, but understand it’s hard to fit in the time with a group. A lot of fun and we are keen to come back to Sydney cooking school!
  • 5/5 from Jeff Gray, attended Mar 2026: Excellent Course! Paul was a fantastic host that provided clear instructions on the various cooking techniques used and provided recommendations for equiptment to achieve the best results. The food and drink was excellent and there was even enough food to take home for later. Highly recommended course for anyone that loves American BBQ food
  • 5/5 from Cezanelyn Bautista, attended Feb 2026: Paul is a phenomenal teacher - very patient and happy to answer questions and really goes into depth about meat preparation and cooking. As someone who isn't super confident about cooking meat in general, I learnt a lot about how to prepare it, season it and cook it to ensure that the resulting meat is cooked to perfection. Although it was a smaller portion of the cooking component, I really loved the salmon that was prepared. Just overall a great session to learn more about the technical theory of cooking and then enjoying the food after each section.
  • 5/5 from Geoffrey Kidd, attended Feb 2026: Paul was very good. We did the Salmon, Pork Sliders, two types of cooked Brisket and Ribs. The food was very good and plenty of it so go hungry.

  • 5/5 from Scott Barlow, attended Apr 2025: I recently attended an American BBQ cooking class with Chef Paul, and it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. We used a gift card and had to reschedule a couple of times, but the process was easy and trouble-free, which made everything very convenient. Because American BBQ is a slow process—some meats like brisket can take 12-20 hours to cook—some of the meats were pre-prepared. Paul did a great job walking us through the entire process, demonstrating the finishing steps, and getting us involved in the hands-on parts. His clear explanations and practical advice on cooking different proteins without expensive equipment made the complex BBQ techniques accessible. We cooked and ate each course, and the flavors were truly amazing—rich, authentic, and delicious. The atmosphere was fun and insightful, making for a great evening of learning and enjoyment. Overall, it was a very down-to-earth class that left me confident I could recreate these dishes at home. Highly recommended for anyone wanting to master American BBQ techniques in a friendly, informative setting.

  • 5/5 from Jason Elbayeh, attended Mar 2025: Paul was awesome and entertaining. Knowing a fair bit of smoking techniques already I was still able to learn some new crucial tips. Thanks Paul!
  • 5/5 from Gary Wyatt, attended Jan 2025: Great class!

  • 5/5 from Jasmine Chaar, attended Sep 2024: We were there the celebrate my partners birthday and wow was it an experience! The class was definitely worth the money we learnt so much and the environment was amazing! Our chef was incredible he was so knowledgeable and kind. I would definitely recommend this class and can’t wait to go back to do more!
  • 5/5 from Leslie Meier, attended Dec 2023: Chef Paul was a fantastic instructor! He explained the different processes thoroughly and was always open to take questions. The content was great, access to recipes was very convenient, he encouraged us to take photos of different steps of the meals, and explained the different tools and spices used. The food was delicious and there is no better way to learn than through example - the best one I've seen was explaining the cuts from brisket, and then tasting them to SEE how they differed under the same cooking time/heat/conditions. I would absolutely love to take more classes through the school!
  • 5/5 from Debra Clarke, attended Nov 2023: Fantastic course. Informative and entertaining from start to finish. Food was wonderful. Would highly recommend.
  • 5/5 from Danlan Huang, attended Aug 2023: We had such a wonderful experience by joining the meat lovers class run by Paul. He is so experienced and patient on demonstration. Had a lot of meat and even came home with 2 contains meat. Thanks Paul! Just one point to mention: we don't know lots of terminology during the class we are not native speakers, which made it a bit hard for us to fully follow the instruction. But we indeed had lots of fun!
  • 5/5 from Fran, attended Aug 2023: My 16 year old son and I thoroughly enjoyed Paul's class. We enjoyed learning about the science of the food and cooking methods, equipment and timing. Venue was open, airy, comfortable. We tucked into delicious salmon, pulled pork burger, ribs, brisket, salads, slaw and corn. There were also some to take home also. I recommend anyone looking to elevate their bbq techniques and to get the most value out of your cooking at home, to give this class a go.

Would definitely recommend this class and Paul as a teacher!
