When you book Bread Making classes on ClassBento, you'll enjoy exclusive perks:
Being one of the oldest staples in human history, the art of bread making has been perfected over the last 10 000 years. Although most commonly associated with wheat, bread can be made from almost any staple grain such as rice, maize, barley and rye. The craftsmanship that goes into producing artisanally baked bread is a craft that has seen a considerable resurgence in the past 30 years, with consumers knocking back preservative-filled, mass-produced bread loaves in favour of small-batch artisanal products.
Learning to make your own bread is one of the many delicious things to do in Melbourne, and given the city’s reputable dining reputation, it’s no surprise our bread making classes are so popular!
Our bread making classes pride themselves on creating an inclusive and interactive environment. Not everyone has made bread before, let alone worked in a kitchen, so our instructors and bread masters ensure that everyone in the class gets the attention they require in order to make their own delicious loaf.
In our Melbourne workshops, you’ll be shown the ingredients needed to deliver a perfect sourdough, a bustling brioche or fantastic focaccia. You’ll be shown how to expertly combine them and the roles live cultures play in flavour, texture and bread type. You’ll discover the chemical process behind bread fermentation, and how baking at different times and temperatures can alter flavour and consistency. After baking the bread, you’ll all be able to sample and compare your works, as well as take your new creation home with you!
Bread making classes in Melbourne are a great workshop for people looking to expand their cooking abilities outside of conventional realms. Learning how to make bread may not be your average cooking class, but it’s one with exceptionally practical results! The culinary freedom that accompanies the skill of bread making allows you to amplify your home cooking game to the next level, and cook for both yourself and others in a very unique way.
Our bread making classes are great for beginners as well and make for a fun and quirky activity for families, friends and hens parties. Many of our bread making classes are kid-friendly, but the ages may vary from class to class. Always check with the class instructor before booking to ensure that your group can fully enjoy the class.
Many of our instructors run both public and private classes, depending on what you’re looking for. Before you book one of our bread making classes, it’s always worth contacting the class instructor as many offered tailored packages to suit private bookings, and can be quite flexible with requests.
Health benefits of bread making
Learning to make your own bread is a great way to aid in maintaining a healthy diet and lifestyle. Many commercial breads contain unnecessary preservatives and additives and lack vital nutrients organic breads naturally come with. Teaching yourself how to bake with one of our bread making classes can be a step in a very healthy direction, as you’ll be able to control sugar and oil contents whilst completely avoiding commercial preservatives. Learning to cook at home with one of our Melbourne workshops will also save you money, as on average a household that eats at home at least four times a week saves 50 percent more money than a family that eats out every night.
Cooking is also important in maintaining mental health and well being. As a form of self-love, prioritising yourself and your physical health has been shown to reduce stress and anxiety and bolster self-esteem. Stress can contribute to poor health overall, and managing stress is crucial to a happier and longer life.
