  • 5/5 from Sue, attended Jul 2021: Sheena was awesome. Friendly, welcoming and efficient. Surprisingly, I really enjoyed this class with my friend Judy and did better than I thought I would. The ideas came easily and flowed. Never thought that would happen. Many thanks Sue :-)
  • 5/5 from Tamlyn, attended Jul 2021: I really enjoyed this class. I found it relaxing and fun. The teacher was easy to understand giving very clear instructions. It was interesting to see how everybody came up with totally different ways of writing. I would recommend this class, even if you think you can’t write, you will be amazed at what you come up with.
  • 5/5 from Bernadette, attended Jul 2021: Sheena delves into worlds that are language rich as well as auditory and visually pleasing. It is possible to explore ideas and have minds transported away from our everyday. I was inspired to turn to DH Lawrence's short story "Sun" where in its opening it is written, "She leaned on the rail, and looking down thought: This is the sea; it is deeper than one imagines, and fuller of memories. At that moment the sea seemed seemed to heave like the serpent of chaos that has lived forever." [Lawrence} As well, her stream of consciousness exercise frees minds from having ideas popping up as thoughts as it grounds them onto paper to explore further if this is your chosen pursuit.
  • 5/5 from Judy, attended Jul 2021: Fantastic teacher. Great ideas and made writing seem possible. I had a lot of fun
  • 5/5 from Carer Vmch, attended Jul 2021: Sheena is a fantastic teacher - very patient and friendly. Our group were able to unleash a creative side they didn't know existed with this class, and will keep on this journey now with the skills that they have been taught by Sheena. Thank you :-)
  • 3/5 from Kaye, attended Jul 2021: Needs more explanation & notes between exercises if you new to the activity. Interesting approach to the activity.
  • 5/5 from Bridget Meehan, attended Sep 2020: Sheena was a very engaging, thoughtful and joyful teacher to have for this creative writing class! We loved the activities she ran for our group and the tools she provided for future creative writing endeavours. Thanks Sheena!

About me!
I commenced my dance journey at the tender age of 5, eventually earning a scholarship to The Royal Ballet London) and transitioning to full-time training by age 11. Alongside my rigorous training, I performed with The Royal Ballet Company and various European dance companies, also delving into choreography and pioneering roles in new productions.
In the early 2000s, I embarked on curating and facilitating creative workshops for community organizations, striving to democratize the arts and extend its reach to underprivileged communities. This endeavor involved collaboration with company directors, educators, and health professionals to craft inclusive and educational arts programs.
Augmenting my dance background, I pursued a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Creative Writing, nurturing her passion for literature, writing, and poetry. Concurrently, she assumed the role of Assistant Manager at a West End Theatre, overseeing daily operations and Front of House management. My involvement in community radio sparked an interest in sound engineering, leading her to earn a diploma and subsequently work in the live music industry.
Upon relocating to Melbourne in 2009, I leveraged my extensive experience and network in the arts to establish Rebel Stepz. This multicultural arts organization comprises diverse talents spanning theater technicians, set and costume designers, dancers, choreographers, musicians, writers, and artists. Together with Rebel Stepz, I curate events, workshops, programs, and production packages, catering to various projects all over the world.
I persist in my multifaceted roles as a choreographer, facilitator, event manager, producer and mentor. Continuously evolving, I am presently immersed in the study of sports psychology, aiming to apply my insights to support artists and performers in their endeavors.
