The Mobility & Balance Complex: Fall Prevention
Welcome to The Mobility & Balance Complex: Fall Prevention, a gentle chair yoga session designed to improve mobility, enhance balance, and help reduce the risk of falls—supporting you to stay active, confident, and independent.
Falls are one of the leading causes of injury among older Australians, often affecting confidence, mobility, and overall quality of life. This session focuses on improving the essential physical skills needed for safe everyday movement, including balance, coordination, flexibility, postural control, and lower body stability. Through gentle, guided exercises, you'll develop greater body awareness and movement confidence in a safe and supportive way.
Regular movement is one of the most effective ways to maintain independence and prevent falls. This practice helps improve joint mobility, strengthen the muscles that support balance, and enhance the coordination needed for everyday activities. As your confidence grows, you'll feel more secure moving both at home and in your community.
Regular practice may help you:
  • Improve balance and postural stability.
  • Reduce the risk of falls and fall-related injuries.
  • Increase mobility and functional movement.
  • Strengthen the muscles that support safe walking and standing.
  • Improve coordination and body awareness.
  • Enhance flexibility and joint mobility.
  • Build confidence in everyday movement.
  • Support healthy ageing, independence, and overall wellbeing.
Many older adults begin to limit their activities because of a fear of falling, which can gradually lead to reduced strength, poorer balance, and decreased mobility. This session is designed to help break that cycle by improving physical confidence and encouraging safe, regular movement. Whether you're walking outdoors, shopping, climbing stairs, visiting friends, travelling, or simply moving around your home, better balance and mobility can help you stay independent and continue doing the things you enjoy.
Suitable for seniors and NDIS participants of all abilities, this gentle chair yoga session encourages you to move at your own pace while building strength, stability, and confidence. Every class supports safer movement, greater independence, and a healthier, more active lifestyle.

My yogi way started in childhood when I asked myself about death. It was so evident that I can't be dead; I am something more than this physical body, beyond the five organs of sensation. I started exploring who I am...
It is an interesting and deep way with a lot of spiritual experiences. I meditated a lot, more than 5-6 hours during the day and many years one after another to find answers to my questions. And once, when I came back to the physical body after a long meditation, two main thoughts came into my mind: "There is no mind over there, " and "People are suffering from the mind."
Later, I met my spiritual teachers. I came to India to learn yoga, where the science of Yoga was born. It's impossible to understand Yoga without learning the Indian culture because Yoga and India are the same!
Western people know yoga as physical training. But it's anything but not yoga.
Yoga is a deep spiritual science expanding the perception of consciousness from simple human to cosmic divine! Yoga is a way and a fruit. Yoga is mystical knowledge.
I never stop learning yoga. Yoga is being called a state of unity and the way to achieve this state.
I have more than 10 years of practicing Ashtanga yoga, not fitness. Ashtanga means 8 parts. Modern Ashtanga yoga is fitness and does not have something similar to the true meaning of Ashtanga Yoga of Patanjali.
The 8 parts include: Yoga philosophy for increasing the level of consciousness, Asanas for the physical body, Pranayamas for purifying the prana (prana means vital energy), Pratyahara (bringing the five organs of sensation inside), Dharana (concentration), Dhyana (holding the object of meditation for a long time), Samadhi (beyond the words, being in superconsciousness).
All this is not easy and needs a serious guru. From my side, I am trying to help people not forget the true meaning of yoga and probably encourage someone to do yoga as a Sadhana (spiritual practice), not as a fitness routine.
