What if you could cook Indian food without a recipe? ️
Learn to smell, taste, and understand spices. Master tadka. Build your own masalas. Cook a seven-dish Indian feast from scratch.
4 hours. Completely hands-on. Serious flavour. Zero boring demonstrations.
Come curious. Leave spice-intelligent.
Stop following Indian recipes. Start understanding them.
Join Sneh Roy at Cook Republic Cooking School for a seriously hands-on, deliciously immersive 4-hour Indian cooking experience designed to give you exactly that.
We’ll begin at the Spice Bar, getting hands-on with whole and ground spices — smelling, tasting, and discovering what makes each one tick. Then you’ll learn the secrets of tadka and masala building before getting into the kitchen to put it all into practice.
Working in pairs at your own cooking station, you’ll cook a seven-dish Indian feast spanning curries, dal, roti or paratha, rice, raita, and masala pappadums.
Then we eat! Wine, dessert, and a table full of food you’ve cooked yourself.
You’ll leave with recipes, techniques, and — most importantly — the spice confidence to cook Indian food intuitively, creatively, and without being chained to a recipe.
What you will experience:
  • A guided Spice Bar sensory session
  • Learn the art of tadka and blooming whole spices to start and finish a dish
  • Learn how to build and balance Indian masalas
  • Hands-on cooking in pairs at your own cooking stations
  • Make seven Indian dishes across the class: 2 curries, 1 dal (lentils), roti/paratha (bread), jeera rice/veg pulao, raita, sides. Hearty, traditional, homestyle Indian recipes.
  • Assistance as you navigate cooking on your own
  • A relaxed, generous lunch of everything you've cooked
  • Wine/drinks and dessert
  • All recipes and instructions to take home
  • Plenty of spice knowledge, cooking confidence, and new tricks for your kitchen
