In this ukulele for beginners course, you will learn about the history, its parts and, of course, how to play this beautiful and popular stringed instrument.
The step by step instruction from talented musician Lindy at Sydney Community College gives you the ability and confidence to play simple tunes. You'll learn the basics of the ukulele and be introduced to the endless amount of music you can create and play.
What we'll cover over the two sessions:
  • The history and background of the ukulele
  • The various types and sounds of ukuleles
  • Tuning
  • The parts of the ukulele
  • Holding and playing position
  • Basic chords
  • Basic strums
  • The written presentation of music
  • Types of musical genres common to the ukulele
Additionally, you will have the knowledge and skills to continue with self-directed learning after the course! Here's to playing some soothing and funky tunes on this fun instrument.
Please note: New pre-prepared and pre-tuned Ukuleles may be purchased from your teacher starting from $40 each.
All students must be over 18+ years of age.

As well as hosting The Ukulele Circle, and teaching Ukulele, Lindy is the lead singer of the Ukulele band Fok Rok, which was recently one of the headline acts at the Blue Mountains Ukulele Festival.
