What you'll get
You will receive a beautiful, landscaped Zen closed terrarium to take home (Small Fishbowl 15cm DIA x 11 cm H, Large Fluted Teardrop 15cm DIA x 21 cm H). The terrariums self-water and can last from three months to three years with proper care.

First by explaining and then by showing us examples of different types and shapes. Everything required was provided and laid out beautifully. There was an amazing selection of plants, mosses, rocks, figures and sands and soils for us to choose from. The time flew and we all got to take home our unique and living creation. We had a lovely time making our own terrarium plants under Yoshi-san's guidance. Yoshi-san is very patient, knowledgable and provides plenty of materials, plants, etc. which makes the experience so full of enjoyment. Time did fly because all of us in the classroom had so much fun. I'm not great with arts at all but boy did my plants look great! It was easy to follow Yoshi-san's guidance and all I needed was a bit of creativity and imagination. I highly recommend this class to everyone. It's really enjoyable and you bring home with you beautiful plants!

The teacher is also very hands on! One of our biggest worries coming in is if we’re able to maintain the plants long term but the teacher goes through all of that which was a big bonus! I'm Yoshi, the lead artisan at Terra-ya on the NSW Central Coast, the beautiful traditional lands of the Darkinjung people. In my past life I have been an interior architect & designer and disability carer. Now, I spend my days making landscaped, self-watering glass gardens in the Japanese aesthetic.
Japanese-style terrariums create a contemplative Zen space through stones, pebbles, moss and wood for harmony and serenity.
