Gluten-free baking queen Nonie Dwyer of Nonie's Foods is back at SSS with a special gluten-free and dairy-free baking workshop.
For too long, gluten-free and allergen conscious foods have suffered a (deservedly) bad reputation. Nonie is determined to change this, and she has built a loyal following through her brand Nonie's Food -- providing gluten-free and dairy-free breads and other baked goods. Her recipes celebrate beautiful ingredients, direct from farmers and producers, which she treats with care and consideration, using skills she has developed over years of baking.
Whether you've been eating gluten-free for years, are a total novice, or are just curious, you're guaranteed to leave this workshop with a whole bunch of knowledge (and delicious recipes)!
What you'll learn:
  • Why Nonie wants nothing less than a revolution for gluten-free foods
  • How to avoid allergens, refined sugar, and gluten, without scrimping on flavour
  • Tips and skills for making gluten-free pastry and a bread that can be adapted for multiple uses.

  • You will be cooking at a shared workstation in a group of three or more (maximum six per bench). If you would like to book a group of seven or more into this class, please contact us to discuss your options.
  • We make every effort to ensure that the class and the recipes proceed as advertised. However occasionally we may need to alter recipes, ingredients or class format due to availability of produce or other circumstances.

What to bring
  • Our experiences are all-inclusive – just bring yourself and wear enclosed shoes to protect your feet, and maybe a pen to note down some insider cooking tips!
  • It's also a good idea to bring your own container in case there are leftovers to take home. (We’re on a mission to eliminate single-use plastics wherever we can!)

The venue is a short walk from both the Glebe and Wentworth Park stops on the Light rail's Dulwich Hill line. Parking is available at basement level in the new Sydney Fish Market. Signposted rates apply.
