All workshops are designed to be relaxed, beginner-friendly and fun, with plenty of guidance throughout the session. Classes typically run between 1 hour 20 minutes and 2 hours depending on the chosen design and group size. Whether you’re celebrating something special or simply trying something new, our workshops are all about creating, connecting and having fun together.

  • Before your guests arrive, we’ll transform your space into a mini cake workshop with all tools, decorations and pre-baked sponges ready to go

In the unlikely event that we don't reach this number, we may cancel the session; if that happens, we'll inform you and let you choose between a refund or reschedule, so please watch your email/SMS one day prior to the class.

FAQ

How do I store the cake after the workshop if I'm eating it today or tomorrow?
If your cake doesn’t contain fresh fruit, and the weather isn't too hot (above 20°C) it’s best enjoyed within 2 days. Simply store it in a cool, dry place and keep it out of direct sunlight. If you plan to keep it any longer than 48 hours, pop it into the fridge to maintain freshness
What if I want to eat it over a few days?
If your cake contains fresh fruit, the temperature is above 20°C, or you’d simply like it to last longer, store it in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. Just remember to bring it back to room temperature before serving (trust us — it makes all the difference!).
I can't finish the cake that quickly ... can I freeze the cake?
Absolutely — future you will be very grateful. Cut the cake into portions, place baking paper between each slice and store in an airtight container. When you're ready to enjoy it again, allow it to fully defrost and come back to room temperature before serving. For best quality, enjoy within 3 months.

How should I serve the cake?
For the best texture and flavour, always serve your cake at room temperature. Fun food science fact: when cake is cold, the butter in the sponge and frosting firms up — which can make it feel dense. Letting it come to room temperature allows the sponge to soften and the buttercream to turn silky and smooth again.
Can we change the colours of the cake?
For selected designs, you’re welcome to customise the base colour of your cake during the workshop to suit your style or theme. All additional piping and decorative buttercream is pre-prepared for your convenience, so those colours are set for the group. Please note: for the following designs, the base colour cannot be changed: Ski Slope, Cherry Pie, Vintage Gingerbread and Whimsical Forest. If you’re unsure about colour options for your chosen design, feel free to reach out before booking — we’re always happy to help guide you.

Hi, I’m Kylie — the hands and brains behind KYKO.
My journey with sweets began almost as soon as I could crawl. Raised in a home where desserts were always tied to good times, I grew up with nothing but positive memories around baking and desserts. At three, I was helping bake boxed cupcakes with my cousin, and by eight, I’d baked my first cake on my own — imperfect, but full of excitement. With time, practice, and a food science degree along the way, that early love for dessert grew into a deep fascination with food science, flavour and design. Before I knew it, cake became my canvas.

Think thoughtfully balanced flavours (never too sweet), paired with playful, creative designs that don’t take themselves too seriously. I’m constantly experimenting — testing flavour combinations, refining techniques, and dreaming up new ways to make cake feel exciting again.
But the real magic? Sharing it.
I love teaching just as much as I love baking. There’s nothing better than watching someone arrive unsure and leave proudly holding something they never thought they could create. My workshops are hands-on, welcoming, and designed for all ages and skill levels — no pressure, no perfection, just creativity, connection, and a whole lot of fun.
