What happens when you stop worrying about making a "perfect" drawing and simply let your pen flow?
In this beginner-friendly, 1-hour live online workshop, you’ll explore the bold, playful world of continuous line drawing; a liberating art technique inspired by Picasso’s famous single-line sketches.
You'll discover how to capture form, personality, and movement using just one unbroken line. By keeping your pen on the paper, you'll naturally silence your inner critic, overcome perfectionism, and unlock a surprisingly expressive way of seeing the world.
No prior art experience is needed! Just a simple pen or pencil, a few sheets of paper, and a willingness to play.
What You'll Experience
  • Artistic Inspiration: A quick look at Picasso’s iconic continuous-line drawings and what makes them so expressive.
  • Playful Warm-Ups: Fun, low-pressure exercises to loosen up your hand, quiet perfectionism, and train your eye.
  • Guided Single-Line Drawing: Step-by-step guidance to sketch everyday objects without lifting your pen from the page.
  • Expressive Flow: Techniques to capture shape, character, and rhythm with spontaneity and confidence.
What You'll Learn
  • Simplify complex shapes into clean, confident single lines.
  • Focus on observing and enjoying the creative process rather than worrying about the final outcome.
  • Capture movement, energy, and personality in your sketches.
  • Let go of perfectionism and embrace playful artistic spontaneity.
Who This Is For
  • Absolute beginners who want a fun, non-intimidating, and supportive introduction to sketching.
  • Anyone who thinks I can't draw. You’ll be amazed at what a single line can do!
  • Experienced artists looking to break out of rigid habits and reconnect with creative freedom.

Hello and welcome!
My name is Sorour. I’m a multidisciplinary artist, bookbinder, educator, and the creative behind Gallery 19.
My teaching philosophy is built around four simple pillars:
  • playfulness,
  • exploration,
  • self-expression & wellbeing,
  • and skill & craftsmanship.
When you join one of my live online or in-person classes, you aren't just learning a technique; you'll discover a calm, supportive space where hands-on craftsmanship meets joyful experimentation. My goal is for you to learn something tangible, while having the freedom to be curious and enjoy the process.
With formal training in visual art and a background in mental health studies, I deeply believe that creative practice is a wonderful way to unplug, refocus, and nurture your wellbeing.
Whether you're picking up a pen for the first time or looking to slow down and reconnect with your creativity, my sessions are designed to be a welcoming, low-pressure sanctuary.
I look forward to making art with you!
