DIY Glass Painting at Home: Christmas Suncatcher

Discover the relaxing technique of glass painting and make your very own exciting and unique hand-painted suncatcher that you'll be proud to hang in your home with this online class and kit!

During the live online class, your teacher will demonstrate the technique of glass painting, the technique of applying an outliner on the glass, as well as mixing different mediums. Then she will guide you as you make your own beautiful artwork.

To begin you will learn about glass painting in general, as well as materials and techniques which can be used to achieve various results. Then using this Christmas stencil or one of the other provided stencils, you will transfer this pattern on square glass using an outliner and special glass paints. If you want to use your own stencil please confirm the design with the teacher to ensure it is suitable.

This virtual workshop runs for three hours, providing enough time to show you different techniques and get to a point where you will feel comfortable on your own playing around with colours. You will also have ample to ask questions in real-time throughout the class.

The best thing about doing this class online is that:

• You can finish your artwork at your own pace, with no hurry and stress if it takes you a bit longer (and trust us, it can take longer when it comes to choosing colours).
• You still will have some materials left which you can use to create another masterpiece!

After the class, you will get chat support in our Facebook group. That means that you can send your teacher questions and photos of your artwork if you need any help or advice.

Please note:

• The listed time for this workshop is flexible. You can request any other day that suits you and we will do our best to make it available.
• This class is not suitable for pregnant women.

Beginner-friendly. No experience is necessary, it just takes a bit of patience!
 

• One piece of square glass 20x20 cm with polished edges and drilled hole in one corner.
• One outliner silver, black or gold colour depending on available stock.
• Seven colours of one of the best French brand glass paints in 10 ml bottles which is enough to finish your artwork and to do another one or two projects.
• One paintbrush.
• Acetone 10 ml.
• White spirit 10 ml.
• One dropper.
• Cotton pads.
• Cotton tips.
• Serviettes.
• One mixing tray.
• Foil.
• Variety of stencils to use.
• Training sheet to practice outlining.
• Delivery is included!

• Please print out at least one practice sheet which will be emailed to you.
• Please print out one of the stencils from those which will be emailed to you (make sure its 20x20 cm).
• You can bring your own stencil 20x20 cm if you like (you need to confirm it with the teacher).
• You will need to set up your camera so we can see what you are doing. You can do it during the class when we start working, but it's good to organise a tripod or stand as close to your work area as possible before the class.
• Don't put your best clothes on. If you get this paint on your clothes it won't come off.
