In this fun and hands-on cooking class which is perfect for beginners, you will learn how to make delicious Japanese and Chinese dumplings.

You will learn the art of the perfect dumpling by the hand of your experienced and friendly instructor. We’ll be preparing three different dumpling fillings: pork, prawn and cabbage, scallop and prawn and vegetarian. Make your own dumpling dough, create tasty fillings and pair your gorgeous dumplings with delicious Japanese dipping sauces, like ponzu sauce and lime and coriander sauce.

We will then sit to enjoy our handmade and fresh dumplings together. At the end of the class you will have gained all the knowledge and skills to keep preparing dumplings at home for your family and friends.


Under 18's: Children between the ages of 12 -18 may attend provided they are booked in together with a Parent/Guardian over the age of 18 at a ratio of 1 adult:1 child.

Please note: Sydney Cooking School (SCS) reserves the right to cancel or reschedule a class for reasons concerning SCS. If a class has been cancelled due to low attendance, sickness or any other matter regarding SCS, all students will be notified within 48 hours of the class commencement date, and the option to reschedule to another date, or full refunds provided.



Knowledge required
No previous skill required. This is a super fun class where you will learn to make your own dumplings for home!

We supply everything you need, including your ingredients, aprons & recipes.
 
What to bring
You don't need to bring anything, we will provide everything you need for the class.
 
Suitable for

This class is a great indoor activity idea for individuals and couples as well as for a birthday, hens party, team building activity, bucks party or Christmas party.

Suitable for adults, and kids (minimum 12 years old). An adult must accompany any attending kids, and must pay for a separate ticket.

This would also be a nice gift for her, gift for mum, anniversary gift or Xmas gift.


Sydney Cooking School adheres to COVID-19 government guidelines. They won't run this class if they've had flu symptoms in the last 14 days.

Classes are run with only small numbers of people at a time, most with a maximum capacity of 10 people and keeping 1.5mts distance and gloves are provided free of charge.

We were collected by a very friendly and efficient staff member who guided us through a labyrinth of well equipped and super clean professional looking kitchens. Our Chef, Ken, was amazing. The dumpling making class was fun but informative. I’ve picked up so many tips from him; my favourite is to rest the gyoza for a few minutes after turning the heat off to allow the gyoza to continue ‘crisping’ and to release itself from the pan.

We were provided with everything we needed for the class; the school was very generous with the quality and quantity of their ingredients. I had a fun day and would highly recommend this class to anyone.

Wow what a great experience! Our chef Ken was fantastic, he explained the process and techniques very clearly and was patient with our slightly rowdy group. He made it fun and educational for everyone even though we were all at different skill levels. The venue was perfect, the room had plenty of space and was immaculate with all the equipment we needed and lots of natural light. Covid safe precautions were great, we all felt very comfortable and Ken made an extra effort for one of our group with food allergies. This was excellent value for money, we ran over time so we got a lot of teaching and fun for a very reasonable price. I can safely say I will be making dumplings at home all the time now and am very confident after this excellent class. Thanks again, wouldn't have changed anything! :)

The teacher was friendly and fun and really thorough. He packed in so much in the time we were there - I learned a huge amount. Had my son and his friend and they were a bit dubious beforehand but had loads of fun making and eating dumplings and said they would definitely do again.
