What you'll do
Do you have a piece of old furniture lying around that you don't know what to do with? Come along to this furniture upcycling workshop in Summer Hill and give it some new life!
Bring your own small piece to upcycle (bedside, chair, side table) and learn how to use chalk and mineral paints to revamp your old furniture. Guided by your teacher, you'll identify which veneer, laminate and solid timber is best, learn how to make minor repairs and prep and clean.
From there, you will learn how to apply paint successfully and explore various decorative finishing techniques, making your furniture look brand new!
This is a customised workshop so you can select colours and finishes of your choice, and choose how you want your piece of furniture to look. Creativity is encouraged!
By the end of the class, you can leave with your new piece of furniture, as well as confidence to continue upcycling furniture at home.

Hi I’m Deb. All my life I have been a maker, crafter and artist. Now I’ve found my true passion - teaching.
I believe that being creative has positive benefits for your general well-being and more importantly your mental health. Being creative in a group environment provides the extra benefit of social stimulation.
I have been teaching in a number of disciplines for the past 5 years. I have a beautiful and inspiring studio in Summer Hill where I teach furniture upcycling, knitting and how to make terrariums- to name a few. Check my Google reviews to hear what my students have had to say!
