Learn how to use a pointed pen + sumi ink to write in modern calligraphy, what essential tools and materials you'll need to get started, how write the alphabet in calligraphy script, effectively join letterforms to create beautiful words, and how to develop your own modern calligraphy style!

If you cannot attend a workshop, please notify us via email at least 5 days before the workshop date and we will do our best to reschedule you into another date if possible and only if we have our minimum numbers already met for the current workshop, and if we have an available future workshop date.

No refunds once you've purchased your workshop ticket, so please ensure you can attend the date before committing to purchase. Tickets are transferrable, so you are welcome to give your ticket to someone else to attend in your place if you cannot attend. Thanks so much.

Hi! I'm Nikki from Nikki Design Co. I’m a self - taught modern calligrapher and sign writer, and I work full-time out of my Sydney home office in yoga pants and ‘gym bun’ hair, creating calligraphy and custom signage and pretty things for weddings, events and brands!

I used to work full-time as a Marketing Coordinator for the University of Sydney, which is when I decided to start my calligraphy business as my side hustle which is what makes me happy and am passionate about! After being employed at the Uni for several long years and feeling uninspired and really wanting to put more effort into my calligraphy, I made the decision to leave my job and put my heart and soul into running my calligraphy biz full-time. That's how Nikki Design Co. started and I'm so glad I took the leap. It's been hard work but I love the ups and downs, embrace all the opportunities and challenges, and am loving every minute of it!

I have two doggos - Pompom the evil dog and Bob the shih tzu! I love burgers, kickboxing and old school rnb, and you'll probably find me busting a move (or two) to some hiphop whilst I'm at home working and lettering ;)
