Italian cuisine dates all the way back to thousands of years ago, with the likes of pasta, bread and pizza making. Although Italy as a country has only existed since the 19th century, the multiple millennia worth of food history stretches back before the Romans. Each city in Italy has its own variations on traditional Italian food, with Venetian and Sicilian cuisine being the most popular deviations. Using a combination of seafood, vegetables, red meat and staple carbohydrates, Italian cuisine is often praised for achieving maximum flavour out of minimal ingredients. Some of Italy’s most famous dishes have fewer than six ingredients, and with such an emphasis on fresh high quality produce, the world has fallen in love with both cooking and enjoying Italian cuisine.
