  • 5/5 from Steve Currie, attended Dec 2025: Such a great class. Teacher was fantastic and the class were a great bunch of people.
  • 5/5 from Jimmy Seervai, attended Dec 2025: What an absolutely beautiful experience! Thank you Joel!!! I did this macaron class with my daughter and it was honestly one of the most special activities we’ve shared together. From the moment we walked in, we were made to feel so welcome, relaxed and excited to learn. The instructor was incredibly patient, clear, and encouraging — especially with kids — and broke everything down in a way that made even tricky techniques feel achievable. We learned so much about the process, the little details that really matter, and of course had so much fun colouring, piping and filling our macarons. The best part was seeing my daughter’s confidence grow as she created her own beautiful (and delicious!) macarons from scratch. The end result looked professional and tasted even better — we were so proud of what we made. Highly recommend this class for anyone looking for a fun, hands-on experience, especially as a parent-child activity. Amazing teaching (Joel), wonderful atmosphere, and memories we’ll both treasure.
  • 5/5 from Alexander Klomp, attended Dec 2024: Absolutely fantastic class! Joel is passionate and an expert at wha he does. He keeps it light and entertaining, but make no mistake this is a real class! You WILL learn! Not like some classes where they do many of the hard steps for you. You'll come out of this knowing exactly how to nail macarons.
  • 5/5 from Jenny Dean, attended Dec 2024: This class was amazing, Joel made it so much fun, it was the perfect combination of educational and social. He was great with my 12 year old son who is obsessed with the creation of macarons. The Macarons were so yummy and we got to bring a lot home.

  • 5/5 from Maria Carolina Penha, attended Sep 2024: I am so grateful to have the opportunity to learn about macarons with Chef Joel! Thanks again for this amazing macaron masterclass, I’ve learned so much and I am sure that I am ready to try the recipe by myself now! The recipe is simple but the magic about this class is to learn all the secrets and techniques that are essential part to the success of the macarons. Thanks Chef Joel! I recommend this class to everyone
  • 5/5 from Marlene Binnekamp, attended Jul 2024: Amazing. Will do it again. 10/10 to Joel as a teacher. I really enjoyed it and highly recommend to other teenagers who like to bake.
  • 5/5 from Catelyn Eddings, attended Jul 2024: Came from the States and was so excited to attend this baking class! It ended up being a private class due to complications in scheduling, however my teacher was excellent. Joel originally attended the culinary school, Le Cordon Bleu (so he's very legit!) He answered all my questions and concerns about making macarons. Not only did he tell me how to make them properly, but he gave me the background science to why the recipe worked. He explained how each technique of folding the egg whites into almond mixture worked the way it did. Joel was very understanding, kind, fun and quite enjoyable to be around! I would definitely recommend this baking class or having Joel as your teacher! He is awesome!
  • 5/5 from Jess, attended Jun 2024: We had a wonderful time making macarons. The lesson was very accessible to beginners and everything was explained clearly and explicitly. I feel so proud sharing the that's I made and they are so tasty. Two of my friends mentioned that while they don't typically like macarons the macaron cake was delicious! I went as part of a group and we all had a great time and took home some really tasty and pretty treats.
  • 5/5 from Amanda Thadanabath Liu, attended Jun 2024: We booked a private class as a fun activity to do with a group of friends, and we had so much fun! Joel is a great teacher and a really friendly guy. Most of the class were complete beginners when it came to baking, but everyone's macarons turned out beautiful and tasting amazing. The 3 hours went by really quickly, and we had so many delicious macarons to take home. We highly recommend his class!

However, Joel took the time to explain every step in high detail that I can guarantee that I will NEVER fail baking macarons again. Thank you so much Joel, I can't wait to cook this at home.

We went away having had a fabulous time, learning a lot. Guided by a brilliant enthusiastic Le cordon Bleu trained chef Joel had infinite patience and passion for what he did. Guiding us through all the processes and we both walked away happy and with macaron and a beautiful macaron cake in our choice of colours. Highly recommended. A small intimate patisserie with great free parking opposite and an after hours time slot which made this an easy fit. Magnifique! Thank you Joel we look forward to making these for our family at Christmas and making more memories together, cheers Bernie and Sophie.

  • 5/5 from David, attended Sep 2023: Today I am so lucky to be the only one person to learn how to make macaron. Teacher is from France. He is professional with teaching work and is so enthusiastic. Before we started he prepare everything well and I follow his step. We talked a lot about the cake and his experience. He has a 35-year-work Experience. That is really amazing. So don't care about the details. He can manage all that thing. Finally I successfully make the macaron and it's so easy of course it can't be so smooth withdout the help of the teacher. I think I need to do it again at home so that make the fee worthy.
  • 5/5 from Maria Diethold, attended Aug 2023: I really enjoyed this course. I basically had a private class because I was the only person who booked that particular time slot. Joel is a lovely teacher who really enjoys teaching and is so good at it. I really learned a lot, got to work with fresh and high quality ingredients and left the class with a big box of beautiful macarons. If you like baking, no matter if you are a professional or not, this class is for you.

Joel manages to clearly explain the concepts, demonstrate and then let you do it all over again, all whilst keeping a close eye on all students. The class is also lots and lots of fun. This is the second class I have done with him (first one being the croissant making class which was equally excellent) and I will certainly do any other class he comes up with in the future. An excellent way to practice being a pastry chef in his commercial kitchen using all of his tools of the trade. I can't wait for the next class!
