Learn Middle Eastern recipes for beginners



2.5 hours Class size 1 to 10 (public classes), 10 to 30

For this casual and fun workshop, ideal for beginners, food enthusiasts, or as a team cooking class, you will learn how to prepare a selection of dishes from the Middle East.

Your experienced instructor will guide you, sharing special tips and demonstrations so that you’ll know all of the steps needed to cook Middle Eastern dishes at home.

At the end of the cooking class, you will sit and enjoy a delicious feast that includes dishes from Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Kuwait, Oman and the United Arab Emirates. Relax with a glass of beer or wine and enjoy your creations.

Have fun, make new friends, gain new skills and learn about a unique and rich cuisine. This cooking class is perfect if you’re looking to expand your culinary repertoire and cook for friends and family at your next gathering.

Please note: Sydney Cooking School (SCS) reserves the right to cancel or reschedule a class for reasons concerning SCS. If a class has been cancelled due to low attendance, sickness or any other matter regarding SCS, all students will be notified within 48 hours of the class commencement date, and the option to reschedule to another date, or full refunds provided.

We supply everything you need, including your ingredients, aprons & recipes.
Suitable for

This class is perfect for beginners - no prior experience is needed.

This class is great for individuals and couples as well as for a team building activity, Christmas party, birthday or hens party.

Suitable for adults, and kids (minimum 12 years old).

An adult must accompany any attending kids, and must pay for a separate ticket.

This would also be a unique gift for her, gift for mum, anniversary gift or birthday gift.

Sydney Cooking School opened in 2010 when Executive Chef Brett Deverall pursued his dream to share his love andpassion of cooking in a fun and relaxed learning environment. Offering a range of cooking classes daily, our Neutral Bay venue is fitted with state of the art appliances and equipment from Fisher & Paykel, Breville and Anolon.

Our experienced and passionate team take pride in teaching practical, entertaining and informative cooking classes or hosting your next event.

We have a variety of themed menus and packages available, and our formats are suitable to anyone, from the absolute beginner to the more passionate cook. As well as our regularly scheduled classes, we offer masterclasses in Pastry, Chicken & Duck and Pork & Cider, as well as Children’s School Holiday classes.

If you prefer to be out of the Kitchen join us in our fabulous BBQ area for one of our Popular BBQ classes – Things really heat up in these classes so ensure you dress comfortably.

Never been to anything like this before. Absolutely loved it. Was fun and food educational. The chef was really good at explaining things and made it so easy for us to make amazing food.

This was a great class. the teacher was so knwlegdebale and i learnt so much. I went as a solo cooker and they were so welcoming that I did not feel like the odd one out. The food was amazing and the chef was able to give practicale advice for a variety of kitchens. the cooking was so much fun and then the social dinner afterwards was a bonus.
