Mosaic Art Course: Garden Mushrooms

Looking for relaxing things to do in Melbourne? Learn how to make a mushroom ornament using mosaics over two days!

In this fun and interactive course, you will learn mindfulness through working with mosaics, and make a unique mushroom ornament for your garden.

You will be guided step by step, learning all the basic tools required to create something special, and spend some time discovering the artistic parts of yourself, in a meditative way.

The cement mushrooms will be prepared by your teacher Glen prior to the class, and all tools, materials and safety equipment will be provided. You will be guided through some basic safety procedures with some handy hints and tips for how to organise your materials so it's easy to use.

You will be working with a hammer and cardboard to learn how to properly prepare tiles for the art work, a tile cutter to learn how to shape the tiles to your liking, how to prepare and apply correctly, grout, and then how to clean up and add finishing touches to the work.

Glen will also show you the correct way to prepare the grout mixture to ensure your artwork has a long life in the garden. Once you have grouted the mosaic, you will be blown away by how it turns out.

The class is broken into two seperate days, as once you have glued the tiles onto the cement, it will need to bond overnight. After the second session, you will able to take your awesome art piece home with you and place it in your garden.

No skills required.
  A completed mushroom mosaic perfect for a fairy garden or a stand alone feature.
  Wear closed shoes and comfortable clothing, that you don't mind getting dirty.
 

This class series runs over 2 consecutive days.
