If you’re searching for fun things to do in Sydney this weekend, consider uncovering your creativity at one of our fun paint and sip classes. These Sydney workshops make great date night ideas or family activities, as you and your loved ones can have a laugh and enjoy learning how to paint together. You’ll be taken through the process of painting step-by-step, so even if you are a complete beginner, you’ll be able to create something you can be proud of. Learn how to paint your partner or your pet, get creative with a funky portrait of Frida Kahlo or capture a serene landscape on canvas.
Searching for a local paint and sip studio near you? For those on the Northern Beaches, head to Bayview Boathouse and enjoy a wine and paint night by the sea! Listen to the waves and learn how to paint picturesque artworks, all with a glass of your favourite beverage in hand. Local artist Kylie Johnson will be there to guide you every step of the way.
If you're based in Sydney's Lower North Shore, try an intimate sip and paint class at Monet and Moscato, located on Crows Nest's buzzing Willoughby Road. Or head out to Chatswood at Welight Art Space and choose your own artwork to paint on the night!
If you're looking for Sydney activities in summer, why not try an outdoor paint and sip class by the city's iconic harbour? Get inspired by nature as you enjoy a picnic-style set-up and learn how to paint alongside your favourite people.
On the hunt for things to do in Sydney's Inner West? Head to Pinot and Picasso in Balmain and create funky artworks like a portrait of Elvis to a Santorini Sunset in this light-filled art studio.
Wine and paint classes are a fabulous idea for your next night out with friends or family. They combine two of the best weekend activities and are a great choice no matter what your skill level may be! Wherever you're based in Sydney, there will be a brush and sip near you where you can have some fun and learn a new skill.
How paint and sip classes work
If you've been asking yourself 'how do paint and sip classes work', we're here to help! First things first, these interactive classes are fun, relaxed, and easy to follow, making them perfect for beginners. At the start of the session, you will be given all of the materials needed for painting, including your canvas, paintbrush, paints, and apron.
Your friendly teacher, generally a local artist, will then give an introduction to the class and the artwork for the session before leading the group through the painting process step-by-step. There will be plenty of time for questions and conversation throughout, with small breaks to replenish your drinks and nibbles.
At most venues where BYO is stated, you can bring your own drinks to sip on while you paint and some nibbles to snack on too. At other venues like a pub or bar, you will be able to purchase your own drinks and nibbles on the evening of the class to keep you refreshed throughout.
The best part? These classes are all about having fun and will ensure you go home with a finished artwork that you can proudly display in your home! It's not about being the best artist in the room but instead letting go, trusting the process and loving your unique masterpiece no matter what!
There's a variety of brush and sip classes available from watercolour painting classes to acrylic pour painting, but most of them run in a similar way. These painting classes for adults are a fun and interactive experience that can be shared with friends for birthday party ideas or hens party activities, or shared with colleagues for some quality team bonding time. So, why not incorporate painting classes as fun team building activities or for a classy hens night? They're a guaranteed crowd-pleaser!
