What you'll do

Come and explore the beautiful, free-flowing and fun medium of alcohol inks to create abstract artwork at this Perth workshop with Monique Ford.

In this two-and-a-half-hour workshop, art practitioner and teacher Monique Ford will introduce you to working with alcohol inks. This medium can be used to create luminous, layered artworks emphasising colour, composition and balance.

You will explore the properties of the ink and specialised papers, and learn to achieve vibrant effects with translucent and metallic colours. The possibilities are only limited to what you are willing to try!

What you will learn:

The application of different alcohol ink colours and effects.
How to create a successful, balanced composition.
How to use layers to create depth in artwork.

We had a lot of fun at our alcohol ink art class. Monique was very friendly and supportive with extensive knowledge and experience of the mediums used. A whole range of inks were available for our use, with lots fun and laughter to be had. We will definitely be back for more.

Monique was a great teacher. I took my Aunt who isn’t very creative (her words) and it was a very freeing and fun, for both of us. We had all of the resources that we could need and learnt many different techniques to help us creative our own artworks. We also loved the notes that we got to take home with us.

Monique was really friendly and knowledgeable. The supplies were of a high quality. Monique has a great teaching strategy to use with people who are complete beginners to alcohol inks, starting small and progressing to larger paper. I would 110% recommend for anyone wanting to try something new. Great value for money.
