We had the best time! We loved all the different patterns and colours we could use! Such a fun evening!

Watercolour has always been something I wanted to try and the Turkish Floral Motif caught my attention. The teacher was very encouraging and explained the different levels of difficulty depending on the design we were interested in and provided samples for inspiration. The venue was really clean and pretty with the turkish lamps displayed. Materials also seemed to be of good quality, the teacher mentioned that the pigments, paper and materials are all Japanese made.

Relaxing class! Great balance between giving guidance and letting us get into the zone. Tea and snacks were great too

Ruth Henderson Mar 2024

Really enjoyed it and would highly recommend the Japanese bead weaving course to others. Only one issue time went so quickly so an extra hour or two would serve to improve the excellent experience.

I went to this event with one another friend for her birthday and it was such a great experience. The space was open, spacious and relaxing. Our class was only 3 people which made for a meditative experience. There were so many options for the stained glass! They really selected some unique colours which I loved. The teachers were so patient, kind and offered to help us where we needed. They even offered us tea and fresh Turkish delight which was a pleasant surprise (and delicious). Would 100% go again to make some bigger lamps!

This class was fantastic! It was equal parts fun and relaxing. I took my girlfriend here for a date and we both had a wonderful time. The studio was lovely, clean, modern and organised.
Ali, the host was very friendly, a great teacher and had a wonderful eye for detail.

They offer a few different classes here, we’ll definitely be back.

Definitely will come again

The class was well-structured and the instructors were helpful. The ambiance of the studio was wonderful, with relaxing music, Turkish tea and beautiful lamps decorated around. There were over 100 colours of mosaics to choose from which was overwhelming but definitely allowed for more creativity and prettier lamps. I really liked how they had white lamps too which I have never seen before. It worked so beautifully with my design. I want to come back again for Mother’s Day as I think it will be the perfect activity. FYI, the Turkish delight was so delicious I am obsessed

Atolya is a new beautiful studio in the heart of Darlinghurst and they host a number of traditional Turkish hand craft workshops. We attended the mosaic lamp making class and it was so much fun. The mosaics were hand cut and there were a lot of colours. Authentic Turkish tea and sweets were served.

We had so much fun making our own lamps at Atolya. it was a great experience overall. Our teacher was super sweet and the tea was also a nice touch. Highly recommend.

This was the best class I attended! I did this class before with another company and I'm so glad I have now come across Atolya! Compared to only 9 colours the other studio had, Atolya had over 70 colours of mosaics. They also had the matte white lamp bases which personally was much more preferable for my home decor. I will be coming again. So glad I discovered this gem.

Attending Atolya's floral watercolor class was a delightful experience—one of the best I've had. The expert guidance allowed me to effortlessly complete a complex drawing within the class time, and the welcoming atmosphere, coupled with pre-drawn designs on watercolour papers, made it accessible for all skill levels. The added bonus of Turkish tea and cookies added a charming touch to this creatively fulfilling and inclusive class.

I recently attended the watercolour painting class by Atolya in Darlinghurst. The floral patterns were authentic drawings from the Mughal period. You can also choose other templates in this class. Relaxing and warm environment. The studio is very beautiful and the instructors were lovely. I recommend this experience for anyone looking for an easy and relaxing but unique paint & sip experience.

This class was very relaxing and therapeutic. The use of traditional watercolor pigments added an authentic and timeless charm to the experience. It was good that the patterns were provided, each skill-fully drawn by an artist and unique in their own way. Turkish tea and sweets was a lovely touch. It was great value for the price of the class.

Japanese Miyuki class was so much fun! A lot of colours to choose from and plenty of supplies that can be purchased at the shop to continue this hobby.

This is a very relaxing paint & sip class, as Turkish tea and sweets are offered throughout the class. The watercolour papers have the designs pre-drawn on them very lightly so it was very easy. Basic watercolour techniques are taught but it is mainly a relaxing session with music. You can also purchase more prints to watercolour.

Hammy Rong Dec 2023

I really recommend this class to anyone who would like to enter the beading world, with no clue where to start. The materials are all original Miyuki supplies from Japan, and the patterns are Anatolian which is the theme for Atolya studio. It was great to be able to take the wooden loom home as it requires a lot of time, patience and dedication to complete the final bracelet.

This was such a lovely class and a great way to spend the evening. I thoroughly enjoyed making me candle holder. Everything about Atolya was perfect from the lovely instructors to the quality of materials. Will recommend to everyone looking for a fun and relaxing activity!

We had a last minute change of venue which we were asked to actually attend on a complete different day. No apology on arrival to the new venue. The teacher was sweet. It would be good to have been told all together the steps in making the lamp. For example, we need to pick a pattern, colours etc, to finish you will use beads to finish the piece. We found that the colours of beads were limited and not the colours we wanted. We paid for candle holders and then some upgrades and paid for swan lamps or table lamps. Once we had driven 2 hours home we noticed that we had paid for a swan lamp but received a table lamp. Although we had a nice day I am unsure if we would recommend this to others.
