Embroidery had been a huge part of human experience for centuries.

Making a mark on cloth has been a way to communicate, record stories, secret languages, embellish clothing, express yourself, ward of evil spirits, repurpose and revamp clothing, cultural significance and relax the mind.

In this day in age embroidery is becoming a dieing craft. I'd like to share this craft with more people to keep this practice alive because it is so beneficial for our minds and souls.

Once you learn basic stitches you can start stitching and trust me once you feel how satisfying it is to embellish cloth you won't want to put the needle down haha.

In this workshop I'll be teaching the 'SLOW STITCH' style of embroidery which is a great style for people to learn who are beginning their journey in needlework, for people who don't want to follow patterns or be intricate and precise and for people who need a craft to help unwind their mind at the end of the day.

Slow Stitching is simply stitching whatever comes to your mind it whichever random way. No pattern is needed which is why this style really allows your mind to pour out and meditate on repetitive stitches.

Overtime as you build up your slow stitch practice you will create a beautiful textile piece that becomes a story of emotions and moments in time.

In the workshop I will teach some basic stitches and foundational tips to get you started with your slow stitching.

You will receive a beginners kit to take home.

We will begin stitching a cotton tote bag which you can continue your slow stitch practice on at home.

It's very satisfying being able to embellish an item that you get to use which is why I chose the tote bag for this workshop.

Come learn this therapeutic and very addictive craft????

My name is Danielle and I have been creating all my life by exploring many different mediums. Flowers and textiles have always been my happy place where I feel entirely connected to my self-expression and to nature.

I became a qualified florist in 2020 which was a dream come true combining my two passions of nature and art. After working in the industry for some time I realised how big of an impact flowers have on people's moods and energy.

Even more so the therapeutic practice of actually creating with them. So I felt the push to start my own business (Bloom Blessings) hosting flower workshops for the community to bring their blessings into more spaces and have their medicine accessible to more people in a creative space.

Embroidery is that practice in my life that allows me to tell stories and mark moments in time through thread and fabric. It is a very meditative practice for me and a way to make my mark and express myself. I love that with embroidery I can paint with thread and embellish my clothes and express myself. Embroidery has been around for centuries as a way to beautify garments, tell stories, hidden languages and ward off evil spirits. It's a beautiful craft that has been handed down through generations and I feel that it is my mission to share this craft with more people to not only keep the skill alive but to give people a craft that allows them to relax their minds and express themselves through textiles.

Through many years of experience in floristry and embroidery, I have mastered the skills and created a range of workshops to teach you these crafts at a beginner-friendly level.

I'm excited to teach you!
