Learn to give a full-body relaxation massage to yourself or your family and friends!Breathe in, close your eyes, and relax...Whether you’re an absolute beginner or already have some of the fundamentals and want to extend your skills, this massage for beginners course will teach you basic massage techniques and tips.Join this short two-week course to learn massage for looking after yourself, or for giving friends, family, partners, or clients a relaxing massage. You will take home beneficial relaxation techniques through massage that you can use time and time again, with the fundamental skills to give massages with confidence.What will be covered in this Massage for Beginners course?
- History of massage and touch for healing
- Simple overview of anatomy and physiology
- The effects and benefits of massage therapy and contraindications
- Correct posture, preparation for massage, and safe practice
- Creating the right environment, preparing and tailoring a session to the client’s needs
- Exploring a variety of techniques and styles of massage and performing stretches on the table
- How to complete a full body massage (legs, back, neck, head, chest, arms)
- How to give and receive massage as an exchange
- Enjoy a soothing massage given by another student
- Oils will be used. Rice bran oil will be used in class. Almond oil is included in the “starter kit”.
- Please arrive 10 minutes early to the first session and report to the College reception office.
- Please let your tutor know at the beginning of the class if you have any specific requirements around giving or receiving a massage during the class.

Jacqueline has a background in Nursing and over 20 years of experience as a Remedial Massage Therapist.
She has worked at the Australasian College of Natural Therapies supervising Massage students in the clinic and has worked in various clinics throughout Sydney. Jacqueline opened her own clinic 10 years ago with 2 therapists and today has a team of 18. She finds it extremely rewarding mentoring and teach newly graduated therapists.
Jacqueline has continued her journey in bodywork with numerous modalities over the years, some of these including Scar Tissue Massage, Myofascial Release, Selective Functional Movement Screen (SFMA), Face Lift Massage and Neurokinetic Therapy.
