The selection was broad and curated with the right pairings. We enjoyed each whisky with their own unique notes. The restaurant food is a must-have to complete the fancy dinner. The experience is definitely a slurge though it was delightful to treat ourselves in the modern Japanese craft.

It was difficult to hear the expert due to the proximity to the crowd. Unfortunately they were shortstaffed that day so our whiskey tasting took 3+ hrs rather than 2.

Would recommend this experience to my friends! I would suggest one thing - offer patron doing whiskey tastings a pre-printed where they can rate their thoughts on each whiskey - taste, smell, peatiness, after taste, etc... So they can take it home with them as a memento of the night, and recall later which of the sampled drinks they liked the most and what about each appealed to them.

My only criticism is that the room was very noisy and I found it difficult to hear what was being said. Based on the layout of the Foxhole, I don't what else could ber done. Very nice whiskys.

The Fox Hole is a tidy, intimate bar, where my partner and I sat for a cocktail from the extensive list before the tasting experience, where the staff said they would grab us when they were ready. My partner, although a non-participant, was invited to sit with us to at least enjoy the atmosphere of the tasting, as there were only two other guests. The space at a squeeze could hold maybe eight comfortably, which I feel is big enough to emphasise the personable experience that it was. The host was knowledgeable, engaging, and thorough with his information. He was interactive and educational without prompting people to what they should experience with their tasting. We covered six whiskies in total, ranging in flavour, intensity, history, age, and price (though the price was never spoken of), and some whiskies came with snacks to compliment the flavours. Would certainly do this again. The only feedback I have, which was based purely on aesthetics, was that most of the bottles used during the experience were well-used. I understand that as a working bar, they're going to get used; however, to then display them at the front as the session progressed just didn't please the eye. I would have also looked at maybe a card at the end of the experience with information, etc, on the whiskies for us to research in our own time. The staff overall at the venue were lovely, polite, and interactive, and I would visit again.

However - could not hear a word the host was saying because of the loud tables around us. The knowledge of the host was apparently amazing (my husband was next to him and could hear him).

The ‘cheese platter’ only had two tiny pieces of cheese, which is a bit of a stretch and they started about half an hour late, yes guests were late but they should suffer for that not the people who show up on time.
