Learn the fine art of macaron-making under the guidance of Sydney’s best: MakMak's macarons were voted recently as the best in Sydney, beating esteemed competitors like Laduree and Zumbo. Find out what gives MakMak's the edge.
MakMak's CEO, Carlos the "Mak Daddy", will give you detailed guidance and demonstrations, so that you can create and then taste your own unique macarons, in this fun, lighthearted and relaxed workshop.
Walk away with expert knowledge and a complimentary gift bag containing recipes and equipment to whip up your own batch at home. You'll get to take home the macarons you make as well (PS: these macarons will be gluten-free).
In the unlikely event that insufficient students sign up for a particular time, MakMak may cancel the class, so please keep an eye on your phone/email a few days prior to your class.
For private classes, we can offer chocolate instead of raspberry as the macaron flavour if you prefer, just let us know.

Suitable for adults, and kids (minimum 10 years old).
An adult must accompany any attending kids, and must pay for a separate ticket.
This would also be a unique gift for her, gift for mum, anniversary gift or birthday gift.
Established in April 2010, MakMak Macarons is one of Sydney's leading macaron makers. MakMak's macarons were declared Sydney's best, ahead of heavyweights like Adriano Zumbo and Laduree, in a blind tasting by esteemed Sydney chefs Christine Manfield (Universal), Peter Gilmore (Quay) and Ross Lusted (The Bridge Room). All three voted MakMak as their most preferred.
MakMak’s handmade macarons are distinguished by their unique texture and flavour as well as a commitment to sourcing the highest quality ingredients including Callebaut chocolate, Maldon Sea Salt and Bombay Sapphire gin. MakMak uses seasonal fresh fruits and native Australian ingredients including lemon myrtle and strawberry gum.
Carlos, the 'Mak Daddy', of MakMak, can't wait to meet you at one of their next workshops.

Gaining popularity in recent years, macarons have established themselves as a favourite dessert. Beyond the traditional French macaron, there are plenty of different shapes and flavours. They are diverse, sweet and challenging to perfect. Macarons are tricky to get right.
With their pretty colours, simple shape and small size, macarons are the perfect dessert for parties. They are commonly used at bridal showers, baby showers, bachelorette parties, tea parties and other upscale occasions. Whether you choose one colour or several, they are not only an aesthetically pleasing snack, but tasty too. Macarons are light and airy, making them a great choice when guests want something small to pick at. Plus, there is sure to be a flavour that fits into any colour scheme.
Aspiring bakers often try their hand at baking macarons because they are difficult to make. They may look simple, but don’t let the appearance fool you. The method seems straightforward but the technique must be perfect, otherwise, you won’t get the desired appearance or consistency. For this reason, macarons are often included on competitive baking TV shows. If contestants can perfect them, that’s a good indication of their skill level.
