Chocolate Tempering Class with Ocean View

Learn how to temper chocolate with the backdrop of the ocean!

1.5 hours Class size 1 to 10 (public classes), 6 to 20 label $80

In this fun and relaxed class (featured on Women's Weekly), you'll enjoy ocean views while learning to make chocolate.

You'll learn to do hand tempering on marble, which is a traditional French technique. Some of the yummy treats you'll make with your own two hands are a chocolate bar, moulded chocolate, as well as chocolate lollipops with artwork and freckles!

You'll be eating as you go, and each guest will take away a sample bag of items made on the day, as well as a certificate.

This one-and-a-half-hours class covers less theory than our other three-hour class, and involves more chocolate making. So if you're mostly interested in having a good time and eating/taking more chocolate, this one-and-a-half-hour class is the class for you; in the three-hour class your fee goes more towards paying for the instruction and theory elements.

We require a minimum number of six participants to run the class. Should there not be sufficient numbers the week prior to the class date (unlikely but does happen sometimes), we will contact you to reschedule your booking.

This class is a great idea for a private event (minimum 6 guests). Just use our Requests feature to set up a time. All ages welcome (if you plan to bring little ones, please be sure that you bring along enough adult guests to take care of them).

Please note:

  • This class uses milk chocolate, however, if you book a private class you can also choose from dark or white chocolate.
  • The minimum age requirement for this class is 13, however, if you book a private class all ages are welcome.

Knowledge required
None required, just a love (or at least liking) for chocolate!

What you'll get
A goodie bag of everything you make and a certificate of attendance.

What to bring
Please wear closed shoes, a mask and bring aprons. Everything else is provided! You must sign in with the NSW Health QR code.

Suitable for

This class is great for individuals and couples as well as for a team building activity, Christmas party, birthday or hens party.

Suitable for adults, and kids (minimum 14 years old).

An adult must accompany any attending kids, and must pay for a separate ticket.

This would also be a unique gift for her, gift for mum, anniversary gift or birthday gift.

Lots of chocolate eating. We could eat the entire time which was good but I thought if it was less crowded it would be amazing.

Great teacher, good with kids - really beautiful location where you can also picnic and run around to burn off sugar high

Michelle Potter • Jul 2023

The teacher was great. We had 12 people in the class which I thought was to crowded for the space. I had a class bento voucher to use, otherwise I would not have booked as I thought the price was expensive. $60 I think would be a more realistic price for the activity

Teacher was great

The class was great value for money - with lots of chocolate goodies to take away

Would recommend to a friend

Only suggestion would be a focus on introductions at the beginning to add some energy and personality to session. Also some background music would be nice!

The view is beautiful and the teacher was fantastic! We came away with a bag of delicious chocolate and got to have a lot of fun. It wasn't a particularly technical class but we knew that coming into it
! My husband and I really enjoyed it as part of date night.

What a fun, hands on experience working with the most delicious chocolate. There’s plenty of chocolate to taste as you go along and Hayley was clearly an expert chocolatier, she’s fun and very knowledgeable. The venue is amazing and I would highly recommend as a great way to spend 1 1/2 hours and you get to take home what you made.

There were too many participants in this session. We shared doing each of the methods of preparing the chocolates. I thought it was too crowded watching the demonstration around the marble bench. It was hard to pour the chocolate into the moulds before it set in the big bowl. only had two sets of tools to share among us. We were asked to put our things on the wooden table when we arrived. there were cups, saucers teapots chocolate beans and other things on it. I didn't know the significance. I didn't see the ocean from the classroom! The teacher was really pleasant and friendly. Details of the bus route and number were wrong. Chocolates are yummy! We took home a selection of hearts with dried raspberry, stars, freckles, Lolly pop, block chocolate which we decorated and lots of choc buds and lollies throughout the session.

A great class, lots of fun and easy to follow. Very inclusive (but don't recommend if you are lactose intolerant). Teach makes is easy to understand and follow and lets everyone get hands on with it!
If your looking for a more informative sessions or wanting to try White or dark chocolate, then i'd suggest trying to get a group of friends together and booking a private class.

It was an overall a good class, but would love to be more hands on. We were not able to do the tempering ourselves and were only shown how to temper milk chocolate.

Even if that was the class that would viable on that price point, the flow of the class were not that great either. Instead of one large bowl of chocolate they could have used two so people do not need to wait for so long.

Great class. When waiting for the chocolates to set, there's a nice patio overlooking a grassy open area behind the building, perfect for young kids to run around or to take photos nearby.

Amazing experience with a fun teacher who was great with our 3 girls aged 4-7. All you can eat chocolate and learning how to make beautiful treats with practical skills we can apply at home made for one of our best days ever! Very special, highly recommended.

The teacher was great! Very knowledgeable and engaging. The shop had a great atmosphere - quaint and magical with relaxing music. It had double glass doors which opened up to a cute balcony with two small tables and a large grass area looking out onto the water. We were quite late but the teacher managed to fit in our class which was good. We had eight people and everyone managed to get a chance to make chocolate and everyone also got to bring home their own chocolate.
