Join professional illustrator Julia in the Adelaide Hills for this intermediate drawing course. Over two days, you will learn the art of composition and build on your basic drawing skills.

Composition is most easily understood in the context of still life painting. But before you start to paint, it’s essential to work out your composition in black and white.

We’ll look at various artists’ approach to composition, from the most abstract to the most realistic, and analyse the reasons for their relative success. A number of different still life subjects will be attempted, using a variety of drawing media.

This class is suitable for students who have completed an introductory course on the basic rules of drawing. Food and drink will be available for purchase at our cafe, at an additional cost to you.
