Learn how to cook seafood perfectly in this fun and relaxing Sydney cooking class! This is the perfect class for anyone that loves seafood and wants to gain more confidence in cooking it and/or more knowledge about shopping for, preparing and presenting fantastic seafood dishes for friends and family.

In our cooking classes, we assume no knowledge but have found that the more a student knows about cooking, the more they learn from our experienced chef presenters.

On arrival to class, you will be offered a refreshment and then given a short brief on safety and orientation. The chef will then demonstrate the courses to be cooked and answer any questions you may have. You will then usually break into pairs to prepare the meal under the guidance of the chef.

On the menu:
- Gambas Al Ajillo (garlic prawns)

  •  Black mussel risotto
  • Grilled Tasmanian scallops, marinated in olive oil, chilli, lime and coriander, served in the shell
  • Salmon fillets baked in banana leaves (when in season) 
  • Stuffed calamari with lemon and basil sauce

This class will cover kitchen safety and correct knife usage and skills. You will also receive an email with all the recipes, notes and lots of other information so you can show off at home!

Please note:

  • We operate with a maximum of 16 people per class and on the rare occasion where the minimum class number of 10 isn't reached, we will notify you at least three days prior with the chance to reschedule to a later date or participate in another of our classes.
  • Please advise of any special dietary requirements (we can cater to gluten-free or vegetarian but not vegan). This comes at no extra charge.

Head Chef Gabriele has managed commercial kitchens for over 20 years and joined "the COOKING school" in 2010.

Seafood cooking class with Gabriele - he was warm & friendly, taught us few tips dealing with seafood and was in Napule Restaurant. Got taught quite few recipes in 3 hours - baked salmon, garlic prawns, scallop ceviche, pan fried stuffed calamari and seafood risotto. Excellent class - got bonus croquettes from restaurant while there - pesto croquette was amazing. Overall- great experience- would recommend.
