Porcelain Jewellery Making Class

Learn how to create beautiful porcelain jewellery

2 hours Class size 2 to 15

label $120 (or 4 payments of $30 Afterpay)

Join Belen at the Fibonacci studio in Fremantle to learn how to carve into raw porcelain a sacred geometry jewellery piece. In this fun and unique jewellery making class, you will be introduced to the basics of handling porcelain and be stepped through the carving technique.

During this beginner-friendly class, you will be able to make one piece or a set of jewellery.

This workshop requires patience. It is a great exercise to practice mindfulness.

To complete the process the class can be divided into two sessions:

  • Day one: you will make, carve and glaze your jewellery piece (about two hours). We will then fire the porcelain pieces in a very high-temperature kiln at our studio.
  • Day two (optional add-on): you will learn how to apply the gold or silver lustre (approx. one hour). A second firing will set the lustre into the glaze.

All pieces will be ready to collect approximately one to two weeks after the class. If you have something in mind you would like to create, please bring drawings or images to reference with the exact size.

During this fun and unique experience, enjoy a complimentary cup of tea and a healthy snack from the Cafe.

Please note: The second-day class is optional and can be added upon booking for an additional $50.

Add-on available for this class
  • Second day workshop for applying gold or silver lustre ($50)

Belen Berganza

Hi, I am Belen; I was born in Spain where I studied visual arts and artistic ceramic design.

Early in my career I taught ceramics in my hometown of Madrid. This experience, coupled with the satisfaction I drew from contributing to the life of a blind sculptor through assisting with his sculpture in his workshop and reading art books to him left a profound memory and appreciation for me.

I moved to Australia in 2006. Since then, I have taught in a range of class settings from art classes at Fremantle International Early Learning Centre, private workshops for small groups to classes at Kidogo Art House.

I also have my business “Belen Berganza” with my handmade lines of porcelain, ranging from jewellery, wind chimes, sacred geometry and labyrinth meditation tools, scent pebbles, translucent porcelain light features and sculptures.
