What you'll do
This introductory beginners sewing class will teach you the basics of the sewing machine and the vital sewing settings and techniques to get you started on your own exciting sewing journey!
This class will give you a great foundation in skills and confidence to take on your own DIY sewing projects at home.
In this class you will:
- Get to know your machine and how to use it safely
- Learn to accurately sew the vital three machine stitches
- Learn how to cut pin and cut fabric like a pro
- Understand the basics of using a simple pattern
- Learn how to hand sew the trusty ‘invisible stitch’
If you’re interested in learning to makes clothes, cushions or other textiles goodies, this class is the perfect starting point in your sewing journey.
You will walk out having finished a mini project to take home that ties all these hands-on skills together, and as proof that you really can learn to sew. So many possibilities!
Please note:
- This is a BYO machine class. Please ensure you pack your foot pedal, power cord, machine feet, bobbins and bits and pieces you have for your machine, even if you don’t know what they are!
- Please come 10 minutes earlier to set up your machine and settle in.
