  • 5/5 from Ian, attended May 2026: This was such a fun class!! Amazing to see how the meal comes together, fantastic guidance and tips throughout on authentic Japanese cooking, cannot recommend enough!
  • 5/5 from Tanya Dayman, attended May 2026: My husband and I went together to do this course, and I’m so glad we did. We highly recommend it. And we learnt so much! Its helpful we both did it too, so we can prepare many dishes together. The focus on using live probiotic and gut healthy foods has changed our perspective on what we eat. Very happy with the course and have already booked our next one.
  • 5/5 from Deborah Field, attended Jan 2026: This course was fantastic to learn the fundamentals of Japanese cooking. The class was taught at a good pace and highly entertaining. It was like magic how all the dishes came together in the end to form a gorgeous “gochiso”.
  • 5/5 from Brian O, attended Jan 2026: Great class, Yoshiko is brilliant and hilarious, very encouraging. The food we cooked as a group was delicious, and the tips provided were very helpful.
  • 5/5 from Rose Clements, attended Nov 2025: This was my third class with Yoshiko and was the best one yet. Very hands on, great food, and time to enjoy it. A small group made it intimate. The venue needs a jolly good clean though (main kitchen and toilets) but that is no reflection of Yoshiko and team.
  • 4/5 from Mei Min Soong, attended Nov 2025: Good fundamental basics taught. Enjoyed the class thoroughly
  • 5/5 from Alison Molloy, attended Jul 2025: Yoshiko was great at demonstrating Japanese cooking skills. It was very hands on and she was happy to answer any and all questions. Highly recommend this class. Great for couples.
  • 5/5 from Genevieve Lusher, attended Feb 2025: I enjoyed the hands on process and doing this with the other students. The notes were good too and I took them with me to the class so I could add extra notes. I bought some ingredients at the class so was able to go home and cook agadashi with tofu. Really good to be able to confidently use the right flour on the tofu. That was my sticking point trying to do it on my own. Also there were gluten free options. My favourites were the eggplant, agadeshi tofu and teriyaki tofu and miso. All are easy to make. Being on a course really made me comfortable so I was able to duplicate recipes at home. I strongly recommend this course. Thank you Yoshiko.

  • 5/5 from Michelle Campbell, attended May 2023: Fantastic teacher. Very knowledgeable and entertaining. Good venue and location. Very delicious food. Lots of hands on experience.
  • 5/5 from Marie Mir, attended May 2023: Booked in for the Japanese intensive course (beginner/intermediate together). It is a busy morning, but the health advice and explanation of Japanese food, condiments and how to cook them correctly was priceless. Yoshiko makes the class fun and keeps everyone busy with preparing the dishes. The recipes with additional measurements for bigger servings was awesome (family of 6) and will be well used. The class does not cook each dish one by one individually, you start by preparing and chopping all the ingredients for all recipes. We then cook all the bits and prepare each individual dish. It all comes together served as a beautiful bento box with yummy healthy miso soup and side of tempura. We made everything we ate and it was healthy and delicious. It was amazing how much we made! Yoshiko is a wealth of information about how best to cook ingredients whilst keeping the best health attributes and not lose precious vitamins and minerals. The class is engaging, fun and hands on and best of all you learn heaps! Can’t wait to go back for more.

  • 4/5 from Tony Jordan, attended Apr 2019: Yoshiko is a very vibrant, knowledgeable and giving lady. Her style of teaching and encouraging participants is unique. Her recipes are easy to follow and she offers for sale key ingredients such would normally be hard to find.
