Amy is hands and heart behind Deep Blue Ceramics.
Devoid of creativity for much of her previous professional life she fell head first into Ceramics; learning, making, sharing and teaching, all after falling in love with a handmade mug purchased at a market.
Amy's classes are welcoming and supportive, beginner friendly one of experiences through to term length courses for intermediate potters. She loves to share #clayplay with individuals and private groups alike!
At Deep Blue Ceramics we're deeply passionate about the environment and social justice issues and strive to make a positive impact wherever we can.

I absolutely adored this 5 week course. Amy was a fantastic teacher who was caring, patient and extremely talented! I learnt so much from her and felt confident by the end of the course! I will definitely be back to compete some more classes at her studio and will be recommending her to everyone I know Thank you so much Amy!

I was given a beginners course as a gift.
Didn’t know if I would like it or not but it was truly enjoyable.
Amy runs an informative class and is very helpful when you are having trouble trying to grasp the intricacies of pottery.
I highly recommend Amy and Deep Blue Ceramics.

Joined this class with my sister who was visiting Canberra for the weekend. We have both wanted to try wheel throwing and really enjoyed it. We got messy and laughed and I managed to make something that didn’t collapse so I was stoked. Amy’s instructions were really good and easy to follow. I enjoyed it and would definitely try doing this again.

My sister and I had always wanted to try pottery and last Saturday was the perfect day to try as I was visiting Canberra from Brisbane and Deep Blue Ceramics had a vacancy for us! Win win. The class was good. All clay and tools were supplied as well as easy instructions from Amy. I didn’t manage to make something in the end but I enjoyed the process and the feel of the clay. My sister made a vase which Amy will glaze for her and fire with pick up in about a month. We laughed accidentally sprayed clay all over ourselves and generally had a good time. Would definitely look at doing it again.

I had a great time making some beautiful things with lots of help from Amy! it was the perfect gift.
Amy is a brilliant teacher who gives you everything you need and enables your own creativity to come through with each piece. She was always on hand to boost confidence and ensure what I made was what I had hoped for.
The studio is a very welcoming and calming space, and it's equipped with all you could need. each step of the process is sustainable and thoughtful of each person in the workshop and the environment.
I'll be back, and I'm sure I'm not the only one from the group to plan on a return!

I have just finished my 5-week beginner course with Amy at Deep Blue Ceramics and absolutely loved it. I loved being able to create a range of things on the wheel as well as trimming and glazing them. I can't wait to see how they turn out after the final fire in the kiln.
Amy is a fun and knowledgeable teacher and helped each of us develop our skills. Everything you needed was provided, and the new studio and awesome company made for a great atmosphere. I will be back for more. Thank you!

If you are curious about pottery and want to give it a go, please do the beginner wheel class with Amy! It gives you great foundational skills and is a very welcoming and inclusive environment. All materials provided and you come away with several glazed pieces. Will definitely be back for more classes.

The Vulva Sculpting class Amy hosted was fantastic. She held the class in her studio which was spacious and had multiple different clays available to choose from. All the tools were provided in the classroom, there was also an abundance of glazes to use after we had finished sculpting and gave us full creative support and freedom to sculpting and design as we chose.
Class was very good value for money, it was a beautiful afternoon of chit chat, secret women's business and laughter. Will definitely be booking another class with Amy in the near future!

I thoroughly enjoyed this class. It was so good to see people channelling their creativity and how rewarding this can be. The atmosphere is very relaxed and supportive and you feel a sense of accomplishment at the end. Can’t wait to see my fired pieces!

Absolutely loved this class! Went with a friend as we are trying to be more creative in the activities we do. We got to make as much as we could and the transfers were so beautiful it was very hard to choose which ones to use! Thank you very much we had so much fun!

Absolutely loved this class! Highly recommend for anyone wanting to try wheel throwing or learn some skills. Aimee looked after all of us, even when we were having a bad week with it. Her beautiful daughter Imi brought out a baby chick for us to cuddle when our wheel throwing wasn’t going the way we wanted it to! What a supportive, beautiful environment to start your ceramics journey! Highly, highly recommend.

Amy was super friendly and very helpful for us beginners. The venue was very comfortable and a relaxed atmosphere. All the materials were provided and we got to make about 4 items each which she will put in the kiln. It was great value for money. We learned so much about how to make pottery and our items looked really good.

We did this class for a hens party and it was wonderful! The teach made everyone feel very comfortable and empowered! The materials were great for beginners and we all made something that looked awesome thanks to the Amy’s guidance! 10/10 would recommend

Do yourself a favour and book in for this class! Such a warm and friendly vibe, with the perfect balance of supportive instruction, combined with the time and freedom to play and create. The eco friendly, quality materials and the setting in a beautiful and peaceful yoga studio were a bonus I really appreciated. Great value class. Five stars all the way!

Highly recommend giving this a go!
Great fun, with all of the equipment you need provided. The teacher/host was super knowledgeable and talked us through everything easily, as well as really setting a fun and engaging vibe.

This class exceeded expectations. Amy was a friendly and knowledgeable teacher who provided endless laughs and was attentive to each and every attendee. Me and my friend had so much fun, there was mo better way to spend a Friday night!

Being my first time to one of amys classes I had so much fun, I was able to channel my inner child play with clay and making a mess and lovely perfect imperfect ceramics.
Amy is a wonderful teacher so calm and enthusiastic about her craft, she brings that energy to her class.
I will definitely book in again.

Amy went above and beyond on driving to our place and conducting the workshop. We paid for a 3hour workshop but driving setting up and packing up takes time and she was so generous accommodating our request. She was welcoming and supportive so our team members didn’t have any inhibitions asking for advice and taking guidance to crating incredible pieces of art to cherish for the rest of their life.
