What you'll do
Get your child feeling creative these school holidays in Perth and join Shannan Whitby in her studio at this mixed media art class.
This short one-hour class caters to a wide range of experiences and ages and will help kids develop skills and techniques of a wide range of mediums. Kids can choose which project they would like to work on, with projects varying from a mixed media collage canvas, an air-dry clay sculpture, oil pastel drawing, a soft pastel drawing, acrylic painting, palette knife painting and more.
These projects are easy, fun and adaptable to a range of ages and abilities. All kids will leave with their own one-of-a-kind masterpiece!
Knowledge required
Beginner-friendly. All projects are adaptable for your child's age and ability.
What you'll get
Kids will have the chance to learn new skills and produce a beautiful piece of art to take home.
What to bring
All art materials are provided, kids should just wear older clothes as things can get messy.
Suitable for
Suitable for kids from 9 to 12 years old. Adult accompaniment is not required.

After excelling in Art at Mercedes College, I was accepted to Edith Cowan University studying Visual Arts. And later Business & Professional Accounting at Curtin University. After a 20-year career working and Studying in Book Keeping & Accounting until 2016, I began painting again and realised where my passion was.
The opportunity arose in December 2018 to open a Children's Art Studio, I have been working to create and develop a Fun and Comprehensive Curriculum to teach a wide range of skills and mediums to children whilst teaching correct technique in a manner that can be adapted to different skill levels.
Working from my East Victoria Park studio, I teach Childrens Art and run a School Holiday Program for Children and Resin Art & Other Fluid & Abstract workshops for Adults.
I have been working with Resin for 3 years and have exhibited some of my large scale Seascapes in December 2020 & sold many pieces to Western Australian clients & Galleries.
I like to teach children a wide range of mediums including Drawing, Clay, Acrylic, pastel and Oil Paints, I generally work in Pastels for custom portraits and Oils for my more contemporary style painting.
Specialising in original commissioned Custom portrait paintings and more contemporary stylistic, colourful works. I had always been an animal lover and have always been drawn to horses. Over the past 5 years I have worked hard to develop my own style of Equine Art.
