Pottery Class: Mugs, Jugs and More

Create your own gorgeous sippable and pourable creations in Brisbane!

3 hours Class size 1 to 8 (public classes), 4 to 16

label $130 (or 4 payments of $32.50 Afterpay)

Join this class to create your very own mug or jug to delight your friends, family - or just yourself every morning with a cuppa!

Over three hours, we'll show you how to hand build a gorgeous cylinder creation that you can adapt to your own personality. We can walk you through how to create a variety of handles (there are SO many to choose from - take a look at the photos) and adornments, all to create your very own unique piece.

You'll be working with 'slips', which are coloured clays, to decorate your piece and you can also work with stencils and textures.

Walk away with one ceramic mug or jug, which will be glaze fired and ready for collection a few weeks after your class - you'll be notified as soon as it's ready via email!

There are an enormous number of items that can be achieved from the humble cylinder, oil burners, vases, oil bottles, utensil holders, beer steins, lidded containers, just to mention a few. If you are interested in achieving any of these, prior notice is required with a photograph of something similar so we can be prepared and or let you know if possible with the equipment available.

This is the ideal class to repeat over and over again, so many items that you can create.

Please note: This class is a maximum of eight people, so you'll be assured of access to Jude's expertise over the duration of the three-hour class.

Please note: Public dates for this class require at least 4 guests to run. In the unlikely event that we don't reach this number, we'll cancel the class; in this case we'll inform you and allow you to get a refund or reschedule, so please watch your email/SMS one day prior to the class.

Knowledge required
Some prior knowledge would be beneficial but not necessary as once you have learnt how to make a cylinder well, you will be capable of making so many interesting projects.

What you'll get
  • All tools, 1kg clay, coloured slip 'glaze', firing
  • Tea and coffee - although Fonzie Abbot is just across the road for a barista-made caffeine hit!
