In a supportive and inspiring environment, your experienced teacher will introduce you to the fundamental techniques of jewellery making. Over three days, you will learn to design and create your very own pendant using a range of techniques, tools and equipment.
No prior experience is necessary as this class is tailored for beginners. We will guide you through how to select materials, finesse essential skills and troubleshoot common challenges.
Highlights:
- This class accommodates a small group with a maximum of 8 students.
- In this course, students will learn to make a sterling silver pendant.
This class is tailored for absolute beginners. Our expert instructor will guide you to meet your individual needs. Techniques covered in this class include filing, saw piercing, emerying, forming, texturing, soldering, annealing and finishing. All skills will be mastered on a copper sheet prior to starting our silver pendants.
Our teacher has years of experience in jewellery making and will guide you through the entire process, from the initial sketch to material selection and fabrication techniques. They will share their knowledge, tips, and tricks to help you realise your creative vision.
Get hands-on with forming metal into different shapes, learn saw piercing and how to precisely mark out your pendant, harness the power of heat and learn how to solder and anneal, create different textures and patinas to make your pendant unique.
Participants are welcome to bring any additional tools or design inspirations they may have.

This class is tailored for complete beginners or students with limited jewellery making experience.

Parking: There is only one hour of parking available in the clearway on Pittwater Road in front of The Metal Space from Monday to Friday. The best option for weekdays is to park next to Brookvale Oval, where there is eight hours of parking available during the day. Public transport: The Metal Space is only a seven-minute walk from the Warringah Mall bus stops and the B Line stop. This makes it easily accessible from Sydney CBD as well as all corners of the Northern Beaches.
