Welcome to our Serene Zen Garden Making Class!

Are you seeking a tranquil sanctuary where you can unwind, practice mindfulness, and immerse yourself in the art of meditation? Look no further, as our extraordinary mini zen garden is here to transport you to a realm of peace and serenity.

On this class, you will discover the profound purpose behind a mini Zen garden—to cultivate feelings of inner calm and tranquillity. As you gracefully create patterns in the sand, your mind will naturally align with the present moment, effortlessly shedding the burdens of stress.

Under the guidance of Trudy, a seasoned mindfulness and meditation practitioner, you'll learn the art of creating a space for inner calm and tranquility. Originating in Japan, Zen gardens are known for stress reduction, achieved through sand patterns and swirling designs.

Our trainer, Trudy will lead you through the process, sharing her expertise in using materials like artificial grass, beach sand, stones, and embellishments.

Please note:

The zen garden creations may vary from the ones shown in the photos, but rest assured, the design size will be approximately 25 cm x 18 cm, possibly even larger. The images provided are meant to inspire you as you anticipate the wonders of this workshop.

This class offers you an opportunity to create at your own pace. You will receive a video link to watch your workshop training and a craft box. You can pause or re-watch the video at any time.

If you ever need extra help or have questions after watching the video training, please contact us within 7 days of class booking as our trainers are happy to offer support, and they can even arrange a video call to provide personalised assistance.

Knowledge required

This is a beginner class and everyone is welcome.

What you'll get in your craft kit

Your Zen Garden frame.
Sand, artificial grass piece, pebbles, 2 x wooden forks to use as a rake, small stones, toadstool, affirmation card, small candleholder and tea light candle and other decorative goodies.
A meditation guide sheet that can be used to help you relax and create new peaceful habits with your zen garden.

What you'll need

Note pad and pen should you get any 'aha' moments during the workshop meditation.
A warm drink to stay hydrated.
You could light some candles to create a nice ambience.

Suitable for

Suitable for adults, and kids (minimum 10 years old).

An adult must be present whilst kid(s) engage with the box.

This would also be a nice gift for her, gift for mum, anniversary gift or birthday gift.

At the Crafters Kitchen, we love everything creative! With backgrounds in behavioural psychology, we started running craft classes in 2010 to offer a way for our holistic psychology students to unwind, relax and spend time in creation mode. Since then, we have expanded to offer a range of craft classes in regional areas across Australia and in-person workshops on the Gold Coast.

For those who can't make it to our in-person workshops, we also offer a variety of DIY craft kits that can be shipped anywhere in Australia and you can join either a live session or enjoy our and pre-recorded step-by-step training videos.
