Pottery Class for Hens Parties

Searching for fun and classy hens party ideas? Our two-hour pottery class for hens parties is a celebration of creativity!

Each guest will get a choice of working with either (one only) a plate or a shallow bowl. This will be hand-made with creamy stoneware clay and will be ready for your choice of embellishment with coloured slips (paint), added clay detail, handles, 'feet' to elevate it from the table, many stencils, stamps, transfers and appliques to choose from, to design your special piece. So many choices!

Don't worry, experienced teacher, Jude, will be there to guide you through all of this with her four decades of pottery experience. Resident chicken (Jacquie-O) may make an appearance too!

Pottery really is a great activity that everyone (yes, even the groom's mother!) can be involved in as part of the hens celebration. We are BYO and we love having music playing while our guests create (it's normally on an 80's playlist - but we're open to requests).

A lot of fun can be had with each person signing the bottom of their special piece to commemorate this special occasion for many years.

Another idea we've heard of is for one of the guests to organise a get-together a few months after the wedding, with each hens party guest bringing their unique plate or shallow bowl along, filled with wonderful food to inspire memories for a lifetime.

We keep Fridays clear for groups to book for two hour Parties 10am to noon, 2pm to 4pm and 6pm to 8pm. Please be on time so all can have a wonderful experience as there is lots to prepare to make this an enjoyable, wonderful time for everyone.

Your choice of plate or shallow bowl has been rolled out, cut to shape, smoothed, moulded to shape and edges softened. Some will have motif, texture, and design elements already added but there will be plenty of blank pieces for your choice depending on your level of comfort in this artistic field.

Please note: Public dates for this class require at least 6 guests to run. In the unlikely event that we don't reach this number, we'll cancel the class; in this case we'll inform you and allow you to get a refund or reschedule, so please watch your email/SMS one day prior to the class.

• All tools, coloured slip 'glaze', and stoneware firing are available with the class.
• A designated person for your group will be advised when you can collect your beautifully finished pieces up to four weeks after the class (we need to allow this time for our kiln to fill up and to be fired twice to achieve a glorious glossy finish). This representative for your group will be emailed when your pieces are cool enough to handle.
