Pottery Class: Make a Stoneware Plate or Bowl

On the search for relaxing Brisbane activities? Enjoy the mindful process of hand building at this pottery workshop with Artisan Avenue Studio.

Over three creative hours, you'll learn some of the basics of slab built pottery and make a colourful, washable and completely unique stoneware, food-safe plate (or shallow bowl) to show off to friends and family!

This class is great for beginners to come and get a taste for pottery, have a laugh and a wonderful experience!

Come alone or with a group, either way, you'll have a blast. We foster a relaxed and laidback creative environment, often with music playing (mostly 80's) and even a resident chicken (Jacquie-O), who often comes to say hi to everyone!

Please note: Public dates for this class require at least 4 guests to run. In the unlikely event that we don't reach this number, we'll cancel the class; in this case we'll inform you and allow you to get a refund or reschedule, so please watch your email/SMS one day prior to the class.

• All tools, 1kg clay, coloured slip 'glaze', firing.
• Tea and coffee - although Fonzie Abbot is just across the road for a proper caffeine hit!
• Three hours of expert teaching and guidance from studio owner, Jude, who has been honing her craft and talent for the past four decades.
• Students can pick up their finished pieces a few weeks (could be up to four weeks) after the class as we need to allow this time for the kiln to fill up and your pieces to be fired twice. Your pieces will be dishwasher, microwave, ovenproof and food safe.
• An email will be sent when your wonderful creation is ready to adorn your dining room table.
