Pottery Classes and Courses Brisbane
Pottery for beginners
Have you ever dreamed of experimenting with the pottery wheel? Or are you mesmerised by watching the pros effortlessly shape clay? Why not take the chance and learn a new craft at one of these fun pottery classes in Brisbane? The best part is these workshops are fully hands-on and are suitable for both beginners and more experienced potters alike. If you’re living in the city and searching for fun things to do in Brisbane, a pottery workshop should be at the top of your list. While it’s been around for thousands of years, pottery is currently trending in a big way. That’s probably due to the fact that it’s a fun, hands-on craft activity for people of all ages, and all levels and a fantastic way to relax and switch off.
No matter whether you’re looking to take pottery wheel classes, clay hand building classes, Japanese ceramic repair workshops or art classes for adults you will find something to suit every age group, level and price point. These workshops are perfect if you're on the hunt for unique gifts for Mum this Christmas 2026.
What to expect at Brisbane pottery classes
Ceramics classes are unique things to do in Brisbane and make great experience gifts for loved ones. Not only will you have fun experimenting with different clay and throwing techniques but you will learn how to make your own ceramic bowls and plates, have them fired in a kiln and then be able to pick them up and take them home with you. The perfect memento of your uplifting experience!
All of the classes are led by experienced potters in Brisbane and will include a mix of pottery demonstrations and individual time to experiment on the pottery wheel. Your teacher will guide you through the entire process and share their own personal tips and tricks with you to ensure you create the perfect ceramic piece for you. They will also help you appreciate all the lumps and bumps in your pieces because sometimes these quirky pottery creations are truly the most special! With our curated range of ceramics classes in Brisbane, you'll never have to search for "pottery classes near me" again!
Looking for something a little less messy? Try a pottery painting class and reap the mindful benefits of tapping into your creative side. No matter what you choose, if you’re interested in finding a new creative hobby or igniting a new passion, discovering the possibilities of clay is definitely a must do in Brisbane.
Pottery is great for your wellbeing
Pottery is one of the most therapeutic crafts out there as it draws on a mix of mental, emotional and kinaesthetic brain functions. Not only can it improve your focus, concentration and give you a sense of creative accomplishment, it also has an incredible meditative element to it. Through the repetitive tactile aspect of moulding and shaping the clay, you enter a state of 'flow', allowing you to de-stress and experience a significant mood boost.
You'll likely leave these Brisbane workshops feeling both fulfilled and relaxed! So, what are you waiting for? Give the potter's wheel a spin and prepare to feel your worries melt away!
