What you'll do
Get ready to dive into the wonderful world of sewing! In this online sewing class, you'll discover the many functions of an overlocker or serger sewing machine. Learn the basics and gain a wealth of knowledge to start experimenting with at your leisure.
This class is perfect for those who want to sew knits or finish their seams with ease but are feeling intimidated or unsure where to even start.
This personal one-on-one class will set you up for success, including:
- Identifying the parts of your machine
- Threading your overlocker
- Four-thread, two-needle function
- Three-thread, single-needle function
- Changing back from three to four thread
- Practise samples
- Tension
- Finishing the ends
- Overlocking corners and curves
- If time allows: Rolled hem and lettuce edges
Aims will guide you through each step during the 1.5-hour session, ensuring that you never feel overwhelmed.
As it is an online class, you will need your own overlocker or serger, overlocker thread, fabric, and scissors. You will also need a working camera to show Aims your machine in case you encounter any stumbling blocks.
You'll also get to choose a time that suits you too! Usually offered Monday - Friday, between 9am - 5pm.
The supportive environment will help boost your confidence as you learn new skills and tap into your creative side. Get ready to experience the joy of sewing!
