In this unique terrarium class in Perth, you will have the opportunity to learn the art of landscaping. This workshop will focus on growing moss and plants on a single stone or piece of wood to create a stunning, self-sufficient terrarium display.
- With the guidance of your teacher, you will select a rock or piece of wood to work with, and then learn the techniques to encourage successful growth of moss and plants on it.
- You will also gain insight into how terrariums are constructed and function, setting a strong foundation for your hardscaping project and future terrarium endeavors. DIY kits will be available for those eager to explore further.
The relaxed and informative nature of the class will help alleviate any fears you may have as a beginner. Working with natural materials and witnessing the growth of living organisms on your chosen object can be a calming and fulfilling experience.
By the end of the class, you will have created a beautifully crafted piece of living art to take home – complete with high-end display glassware to showcase your unique design. This immersive workshop promises to be an engaging and transformative activity, allowing you to delve into the world of terrariums and hardscaping in a meaningful way.
Knowledge required
Beginner-friendly. No skills as a terrarium 101 will be included in the workshop.

I learnt about plants from my grandfather. I would watch him pull carrots out of the ground and wipe the dirt off on his pants. He would bend down from his place in the clouds, where giants lived, and hand them to me. It felt magical. And it still feels like that every time I start working my fingers through the root of plants for my terrarium.
