Pottery has been around for centuries, and wheel throwing is one of the most widely recognised tools in the pottery process. If you’ve never tried it, it can look intimidating but in reality, anyone can learn how to use a pottery wheel to make beautiful, stunning works of art. Add a bit of mindfulness into your day with a wheel throwing session.
Wheel throwing classes are unique experiences Sydney artists and non-artist alike can enjoy. However, there are plenty of pottery classes out there, so how can you choose one? With the best wheel throwing teachers in Sydney, you’ll be making pottery that will wow your friends and loved ones.
What to expect at wheel throwing classes in Sydney
It can be hard to find time to explore a new hobby, which is why there are pottery classes at different times throughout the week. You might try out a ceramics class in the evening or on the weekends or schedule a pottery throwing session with one of our trained instructors. And, you can stop searching for “pottery classes near me” because these fun Sydney workshops take place all around the city.
Whether you’re planning romantic things to do in Sydney or need a fun activity to do with the kids for the Sydney school holidays, wheel throwing is a great option. Wheel throwing is one of the most popular indoor activities Sydney has to offer, and they’re highly recommended as fun corporate team building activities.
Wheel throwing classes are adaptable and flexible so that beginners and more advanced pottery throwing students can all enjoy their wheel throwing workshop. Your experienced instructor will show you the basics and then help you as you unleash your creativity to make your bowl, plate, cup or other work of art. Then, you’ll leave your masterpiece to be fired so that you can take your finished product home!

Wheel throwing is great for your wellbeing
There are plenty of things to love about wheel throwing. It’s fun, it’s social, and you walk away with a work of art that you can be proud of. But there are also health benefits, too! Wheel throwing is a meditative activity that allows you to disconnect from the stress of life and focus on all of your senses. It’s messy and relaxed and completely therapeutic.
There is something so soothing and therapeutic about sitting down to a clay wheel. The beauty of this hobby is that you’re invited to focus only on what you’re doing, which is meditative and calming. You’ll learn to have patience with yourself and your pottery throwing practice. Soon, heading to your ceramics class will feel like a central part of your self-care routine!
