Fun Fluid Art classes in Melbourne
Let the paint do the talking and go with the flow at fluid art classes in Melbourne! Led by local and passionate artists, you’ll discover how relaxing and mesmerising it is to try methods such as acrylic pouring, alcohol inks and resin art. Due to its free-flowing nature, fluid art is the perfect medium for absolute beginners who want to engage their artistic side and try something new. Try out an alcohol ink workshop with friends for a hens night or birthday party, or, if you’re looking for more unique things to do in Melbourne learn how to make funky phone case decorations using resin and cute decorations!
Fluid art for beginners
Fluid art is a relatively new medium and involves pouring acrylic paint over a canvas or platform to create beautiful patterns and designs. Utilised in a similar way to watercolours, acrylic paints are added to water in order to manipulate the texture and appearance of the paint. The medium covers various techniques of colour blending and mixing and offers artists an extensive array of approaches and creative potentials for their work. Fluid art is a visually spectacular way of creating art and is exceptionally satisfying to watch. There are a variety of acrylic pouring techniques to learn and our fluid art classes in Melbourne will give you the tools you need to master them. Whether it’s practising the “dirty pour” technique or learning to “flip cup” and “bottom bottle” pour, there are multiple techniques that you can employ to achieve different outcomes to ensure your work of art is uniquely you.
Fluid art classes in Melbourne are perfect for newcomers to both fluid art, and art in general. Unlike other painting classes, there are no brush strokes to learn or complicated techniques to get a handle on before you dive straight in. Although it may initially seem highly complex and somewhat magical, you can master fluid art with just a few important tips. Learning to pour acrylic paints is a fun method unlike any other painting technique, and offers plenty of therapeutical benefits to the artist.

What to expect at fluid art classes for beginners
Our instructors offer the chance to learn one of the newest artistic disciplines and engage with one of the most exciting things to do in Melbourne! You’ll be shown how to blend paints together effectively without diminishing or muddling their colour, and how to pour them to create dazzling visual effects. You’ll learn how to manipulate your canvas in order to spread the colour evenly and effectively, as well as tips and tricks in how to marble a canvas with your colourful masterpiece.
Fluid art classes in Melbourne are a wonderful way to expand your artistic horizons. Learning how to create fluid art is a unique skill, and certainly off the beaten track when it comes to learning standard artistic mediums. Acrylic pouring classes are perfect for small and medium-sized groups looking for a unique Melbourne experience and to unleash their inner creative. Learning how to make fluid art is perfect for beginners, but it’s also a good choice for individuals and groups who have tried paint and sip classes and are looking to venture out of their creative comfort zone. It’s also a good class to get away from typical Hens party ideas, or for an office team-building event that also doubles as an effective method of adding a bit of colour and flair to the office.
Fluid art is great for your wellbeing
Engaging in any artistic pursuit has been shown to greatly reduce work-related stress and anxiety, and promotes longevity with a healthy, balanced lifestyle. Indulging in your artistic side has numerous health benefits both physically and mentally. Painting can actually improve your memory, as you’re exercising methods of concept visualisation and implementation. Using these critical thinking skills in a creative outlet has been shown to effectively ward off degenerative brain diseases, such as Alzheimer’s. Art therapy has also grown in popularity and is now a proven method of helping individuals deal with stress, depression and trauma-related disorders. Having an artistic outlet allows you to express emotions that may otherwise be difficult to express through words. Having an emotional release also contributes to overall stress reduction.
